A Later Launch Date
1 of 11
Last year, the iPhone 4 took center stage at Apple's annual WWDC event. Recently, Apple hinted that this year's June conference would focus on software. The release date for the iPhone 5 is rumored to be scheduled for the fall, rather than the summer. Writes Fast Company:
According to some Chinese sources, the phone is unlikely to arrive until the end of Apple's current fiscal year because there's been no ramp-up in production that would have to happen now for a June release of the new iPhone (to match Apple's previous habits). This would push delivery of a new iPhone until August or September--a date that tallies with information Fast Company had previously received from a person with inside knowledge of Apple's plans.

While I got lot's of laughs out of you'all, I'm still sobered by Arianna making money out of our socializing. But guess it's safer than Facebook. And now I will go wrap my chip cards in aluminium foil (can't afford a scanner-proof wallet).
BTW, now also understand why the stores are offering the Iphone 4 with 25 per cent rebate here in Stockholm.

Money is always an incentive. You're not old (or poor) enough to remember when NYC busses stopped taking cash on the busses, because of robberies.
There have developed whole criminal industries to skim credit cards, etc.

So don't plan to be an pioneer, even tho' I was one when wrote my thesis back in *70
using a system plan the opponent said was too advanced. Three months later was employed doing system software for an even more advanced real time system.

A recent survey found, once again, that Apple's iPhone is superior to Android phones. This includes ease of use, a better OS, and a better physical design.

You are just another of the people claiming you don't want an iPhone, yet you stalk the "iArticles" and say childish, ignorant, immature things about Apple, Steve Jobs, the iPad, the iPod, and the iPhone.

I don't like Rap music. Consequently, I don't have an interest in Rap music, I don't read Rap music articles, and I don't praise or criticize Rap music. It is off my radar. That is the way it works when you are truly uninterested and unimpressed by a subject. (No offense intended to Rap lovers.)

If I felt the same way about Apple or their products, I'd treat them the same. However, people who are constantly stalking these iArticles and whining about Apple and alike are clearly interested. They have taken their their stand, (Apple is overpriced, etc.) and now they feel some great desire to stalk the iArticles. Why would that be?

Jealousy, immaturity, fear they bought the wrong product, envy, realization that they are being left it the dust, you name it. However, this constant stalking that takes place by people feigning disdain for all things Apple is not what it appears. Face it - you are insecure, and rightly so.

Just bought the HTC Inspire because of the larger screen 4.3. Love it. Hopefully the iphone 5 will incorporate a 5 or 6 inch screen. With all the content to read today the smaller screens are a thing of the past unless you stick with a basic call/text handset.

If they make a 4" screen they will be the biggest hypocrits. Steve Jobs blasted the 4" screens and said that nobody would want them.
10:45 PM on 04/11/2011
And...what's your point? So what if they change your mind? So what if anyone changes their mind? It's not like it's illegal to do so.

Don't you love that?
If they stick to their guns with a premise he doesn't agree with, they die with nobility.
If they change their mind, and actually come to HIS way of thinking, they're somehow 'hypocrites', as though this is a moral or ethical decision about screen size! LOL

Actually, I have no care about it, nor do I remember Jobs talking about 4" screens. Only about the 7" Galaxy Tab screen, which he said was too small for a tablet.
Whatever. They're "hypocrits"!

Spell and define:
hyp·o·crite
–noun
1.a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.

Ah yes, a 4" screen is an issue of religious and moral concern!

Now that the IPhone is going to become available to me via the Att/tmobile merger someone give me a good reason to trade in my 3G Blackberry Curve for it

Folks, I am ashamed to admit that my primary cell phone is a circa 2004 Nokia 6630 with the Cingular logo still on it...LOL!  But it works perfectly for what I need, which is on-the-go phone calls using my Bluetooth earpiece mostly while driving.  Even when I am at home, I instinctively reach for my cell phone to make any calls rather than use our home phone.  My company cell phone is a Motorola RAZR and, even though it's more modern than my Nokia and has more features, I use it for the same simple tasks. I guess I'll have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 2nd decade of the 21st Century pretty soon. :-)

BTW, I bought my wife an iPhone 4 many months ago and just recently an iPad2 (for which she's still awaiting delivery of).  She couldn't be happier, but I haven't seen the need or have the desire for the newer hand-held devices yet.  Rather than having an iPad2, I am looking to buy a new HP laptop real soon.

I think there's a lot of people like you. I'm fine with that.
I think Apple should have a iPhone with no data plan for that market.
Just all the feature of the ipod touch, along with the phone and nice visual voice mail.
I think it's a bigger market than many think.
10:48 PM on 04/11/2011
I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous. An iPhone without a data plan? I had a Blackberry without a data plan once (back when AT&T allowed it, and it's AT&T/VZ that control that, not Apple) and it was worthless. Just get an iPod Touch.

Nokia's are built like brick s...houses The only problem with Nokia's smart phones is that they run the wrong operating system (either symbian or windows mobile)

I'm deeply skeptical of the 3D photo/screen capability. It's a cool idea, but that's basically it. Cool, but with little practical functionality. Additionally, the cost of having TWO cameras while maintaining decent (and hopefully improved) resolution would probably not be palatable to most buyers. If they offered separate phones (iPhone 5 and iPhone 3D), then maybe it would work, or if they offered it as an option. But I don't really see the benefits outweighing the costs here. And I haven't even mentioned the challenges of fitting all that hardware in the notoriously slim iPhone case.

The other stuff sounds good though.
01:17 PM on 04/08/2011
I think the only one that really counts is whether it will be 4G or not. Applecultists will buy a shoe box full of bees if it has an apple logo on it. Antiapplecultists wouldn't buy immortality if it had the same. and in between are those who want the best. 4g is the way forward if apple want new buyers (and I assume they do). If they can't get it into the 5 they will lose new customers and some existing ones.

And since rumours are fun here's #11 Apple, tired of 'issues' with carriers, will launch their own 4G network to further ringfence their followers. iNet4G will be exclusive to iPhone 5 (well maybe 6) and Ipad 3 (or 4) users, will cost 33% more than any other 4G and the iGhetto will be complete.

Why am I a "cultist" for buying elegant, reliable information technology that does what I want for a price I can afford?

Though I must confess I love the idea of a shoebox full of bees... Imagine the sound. The sense of small but insistent, multiplicitous power restrained only by a thin layer of cardboard. But for the implied cruelty to the bees, I'd be making myself one right now, to keep on my desk. I feel sure the office cat would love it.

Prediction 11:

There will be an iPhone 6 in 6months costing hundreds of more dollars and probably drop just as many calls.

When it wacks me off and makes me toast in the morning, I'll be impressed. Until then, I'll avoid companies endorsing slave labor and off shoring jobs as much as I can.
