Allen Iverson Curses At Police: 'Do You Know Who I Am?'

Former NBA MVP Allen Iverson had a run-in with the law last week and reportedly cursed at police officers who pulled over a car owned by him.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Iverson was a passenger in his own 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago when it was pulled over because the driver switched lanes without signaling.

CNN reported that the driver, Antwuan Clisby, didn't have any documentation for the car. Police said that Iverson became "irate" when the officers asked both of them to get out of the vehicle.

When police scanned the identification number of the vehicle, which belongs to Iverson, it was found to have tags that expired in 2009. Iverson, former MVP for the Philadelphia 76ers, was told his car would be towed.

"Take the vehicle, I have 10 more," Iverson reportedly said. "Police don't have anything else (expletive) to do except (expletive) with me." He then asked, "Do you know who I am?"

If the cops stopped even a third of those who switch lanes without signaling, half of America would be locked up. And then the police wonder why they get no respect.

I've got no problem racial profiling if it helps to remove violent criminals from the street. We need legislation to protect officers who profile in the name of public safety.

Where is the probable cause for the stop. Failure to use a turn signal does not provide an officer reasonable suspicion or probable cause for the stop. It was only after the car was stopped that the officer determined that the tags were expired.

I think officers need to think twice about racial profiling because the perp they pull over to quench their racial bias may be their last....why risk it over the compulsion to satisfy your racist fix? Is it worth it? This is 2011 and people don't see u as police officer anymore.

She didnt stop for 8 miles. Moreover, the cop was fired (and should have been).

Don't get me wrong, unless Iverson's buddy made a dangerous lane change that cut someone off, I dont think they should have messed with him, and I dont believe they would have had that been a couple of white men driving that Lambo.

I understand Iverson's frustration, but he also can't be acting like a complete t00/ in response either.
