Poetry

It's a simple and beautiful confession written by William Carlos Williams. The original is below. Take a look at the random versions here, with everything from iPads to backpacks.

This Is Just To Say

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold

Mad libs are funny. Here were two of my randomly generated ones.

This Is Just To Say

I have felt
the children
that were beneath
the pit

and which
you were probably
bending
for pasteuration

Forgive me
they were wasteful
so cold
and so repulsive

This Is Just To Say

I have blown
the dwarves
that were beneath
the bureau

and which
you were probably
subletting
for morning

Forgive me
they were weak
so heady
and so careful

This is a great poem. It is subtle, playful, and evocative.

The website this article links to doesn't do anything except tear up a great poem. It's basically madlibs...it gets a few chuckles once in a while, but only because of the dissonance of ideas, not the harmony

What's the connection between that phrase and the poem? Not raggin'...just curious.

Why were the plums in the icebox?

Repackaging poetry for people who don't like poetry. Thanks HP! We didn't even know we needed that.

Poetry so bad even a computer can't do any worse.
