Colbert Derides 'Fox & Friends' & Senator Jon Kyl Over Planned Parenthood Statements (VIDEO)

Colbert Fox Friends

Did you know you can now get pap smears at Walgreens? At least, that's what you would have learned as a dedicated viewer of 'Fox & Friends.'

As the dust settled on the non-government shutdown, Stephen Colbert took the opportunity to highlight some of the most outrageous comments made during the Republicans' unsuccessful bid to completely defund Planned Parenthood.

First up, was the junior Senator from Arizona, Jon Kyl. Both Stewart and Colbert took swipes at Kyl for blatantly lying about the women's health services organization, saying that it spends 90% of its time performing abortions. In actuality, it's only 3%, but Kyl's camp defended his statement by saying it was never meant to be factual. Good to know that statements made on the Senate floor in support of zero-funding an organization that provides vital medical care to women who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it don't have to be true as long as they feel true to the speaker.

Colbert then moved into the utterly laughable arena, focusing on a recent 'Fox & Friends' discussion about what Planned Parenthood actually does. We know that Walgreens offers a lot of great products and services, but we're pretty sure that pelvic and breast exams aren't among them.

These Pro Life=TEA club. They have a worpted sence of how the Christain Church should live.I see them wanting to go back to the MID EVIL TIMES.I heard Rand Paul said slaves would be ok with him.I'v heard a lawer on line say,it would be okay with him to sentces people who commited adultry to jail for this crime. We as a people are going back in time,in stead of forward. The Christain church was established in the begging to keep people in fear and under control, plus collecting money from the poor to take care of all the staff of that church. The first Christain churches beat, whipped ,torture, starved to death many Jewish people, and many others who refused Christainty Woman deserve to have all the medical needs ment with out being attacked by ANTI LIFE PROSTERS.It is a HATE CRIME while the LAW OFFICERS turned a blind eye to injustice.CALL YOUR LAWERS

State Govenor, that's a Republican like Govenor John Kasich finds it his religious calling to strip American workers, woman, union busting and child labor laws to be removed of their rights. Wisconsin govenor Walker, along with Michigan govenor who imposed MARSHAL LAW on it's own people, and other State Republican Govenor's that think it is there call to strip the American people of their civil rights.I think these Govenors all went to Jerry Farwell college. There is no way this could be happening to America at the same time unless these plans have been made as a rat pack club that started years ago with a pledge to bring down the America workers, and womans rights.also the union busting laws, they R running away with.People stand up

I live alone in a condo in between two other condos. I can sometimes here the people on either side of me. While I watched this bit, I just couldn't stop laughing. And the thought that the people on either side of me were probably wondering what the hll was going on, as I tend to be quiet, it just made me laugh even harder. I felt kind of exhausted afterwards. LOL

Facts and falsehoods, as long as they sound good, are the same if you are a seasoned senator like Kyl.

I'm enjoying this Jon Kyl twitter campaign #notbasedonactualfacts. The jokes brings tears to my eyes!!

Don't you just hate "facts". I mean, who needs them. "Tea-Partiers" obviously don't. Like the Beckster says when confronted with indisputable facts that don't support his views, "Search your feelings. You know I'm right". How can you argue with that? And really, the difference between 3% and 90% isn't all that much. Anyway, it's math. And we all know who uses math. Those braniac Scientists try too confuse us with their "Scientific Method". Wouldn't you rather have a scientist reach a conclusion because "it feels right"?

And, who on this board (other than most posters) is in a position to question the "brain trust" on "Fox and Friends". I certainly have no desire to question the hosts of a morning show whose title sounds like a Disney Movie.

Why would anybody but the most ill-informed still think Fox is a factual news service, when they've already stated in a court of law that they are not? They argued in a florida appeals court that there was no law preventing Fox news from lying, obfuscating or distorting news reports and they were under no obligation to report the facts. The court agreed.

Never laughed so hard in my life!!

Saw one comment that the "not factual statement" part is a symptom of Kylitis - a disease common among republicans.

So - it has a name now - Kylitis.

Colbert is absolutely hilarious but his writing team of Jon Kyle and Fox and Friends really brings him great material. The great thing about being a republican is that you can say anything and it's alright. It is a fact even if you are not meaning it as being "being factual." I think the republicans have just invented the perfect argument for anything. "yes dear, I slept with your sister...but I didn't mean that confession as factual." "Your honor the speed limit was 150 MPH.....of course I wasn't trying to be factual." You gotta love them republicans.

Colbert is truly priceless. This kind of comedy just writes itself. I was on the floor howling in laughter when he did this bit. Faux and Friends and Jon Kyl please keep the material coming. I haven't laughed this hard in ages. Colbert could barely get through it without laughing himself. Lol

The government did NOT shut down - aren't we all privileged? That's what I heard in his speech. Ugh.
