Hosni Mubarak Reportedly Suffers Heart Attack

Ousted Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak suffered a heart attack today, according to AFP and Egyptian State TV.

The Associated Press reported earlier that he had been rushed to the hospital due to illness:

SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt -- Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was abruptly hospitalized Tuesday at a Red Sea resort for heart problems during an investigation into allegations of corruption and the violence against protesters, reported state TV.

The hospitalization of the 82-year-old former leader came the same day he was supposed to be questioned by prosecutors. Mubarak was deposed Feb. 11 after 18 days of popular protests.

Mubarak had just been summoned to appear in court. He broke a two-month silence for the first time on Sunday, vowing to fight the accusations against him and his family.
