Obamas Sitting Down With Oprah April 27

Oprah Obama

First Posted: 04/12/11 04:53 PM ET Updated: 06/12/11 06:12 AM ET

Barack and Michelle Obama will appear on Oprah Winfrey's show on April 27, it was announced Tuesday. Obama will be in Chicago for a series of fundraisers and will sit down for a taped interview. The interview will air on May 2, and will presumably be the final interview Oprah has with the pair on her talk show, which is ending on May 25.

Oprah, of course, is a longtime backer of the Obamas, and has interviewed the two numerous times before. Most recently, she interviewed Michelle Obama in January, where the two discussed military families.

I thought Oprah's last show was the first of May? When is her last show? I will not watch it since I have no TV, but I hope some good stuff happens, like he telling the audience he will go progressive now for real.

This one will be different than when he ran for President. He will just be preaching to the choir, mostly the old folks in the choir.

I love how Oprah can just demand the best of everything because she's Oprah: The best guests for her final season (the Obamas), the best producer (see her behind the scenes show), the best person to take over her studio & host a show on her network (Rosie). Oprah gets the best because she is the best!

Good lookin' out Obamas! Throughout your campaign you played to a younger, 'hipper' audience than we stuffy old Boomers. You were great on Ellen and other talk shows. You've had one helluva hard few years...and you're hangin' in. Can't wait to watch this show.

Well, all of them being Chicagoan s, it'll probably be like having someone over for lunch.
I doubt there will be many difficult questions, but should make a good photo-op.

Where else would someone who is all talk and no action - not to mention leadership - land up?

Very undignified. What's next? Judging DWTS? A cameo on some sitcom?

How many Americans will watch Oprah the last month. When companies will pay $1M for a 30 second ad slot - a whole hell of a lot I would venture to say, how about you?

And President Obama is not making a wise move because?????? Help, I am missing something. Tell me where he can go during the day and reach this many viewers with emphasis on the female audience? Reach, Reach, Reach is the name of the game which I am sure you are aware - Frank taught you that, right. Same principels (sp) apply here even for an exotic person.

The Repubs have Hannity and O'Reilly while the Dems have Oprah. Is there any in between?

Nearing 68, this is something I never expected to see.  The first African American I met was a girl in high school, a school of over 2000 students and the first African American I saw on TV was when in college -- my roomate turned the set off.
Oh, how far we have come in such a resonably short period of time and how much better a nation we are for it.

Hmmm, on TV, I remember "Amos 'n Andy" back in the 1950s and Eddie Anderson as "Rochester" on Jack Benny.

But first AA in school was one girl in a large suburban high school in CO,1967.And then I moved to Baltimore for 12th grade in '68 and the student body was quite mixed.
