White iPhone 4 May Be Released In Late April

When Apple announced the iPhone 4 in 2010, the company promised to release the device in white and black flavors.

After 10 months and repeated delays, the elusive white iPhone may be just around the corner--finally.

Bloomberg reported on Thursday that the device will be available from both AT&T and Verizon by the end of April, according to word from unnamed tipsters.

The Wall Street Journal was able to obtain confirmation from Apple that the device is on track to debut this spring, but was unable to pin down a date or carrier verification.

What took so long? Though Apple has repeatedly cited difficulties with the manufacturing process, the company was able to produce a white version of the iPad 2 on time.

One of Bloomberg's tipsters said that a major problem with the white iPhone 4 involved paint that peeled in high heat.

Now that the production issues are presumably solved, do you think the white iPhone will be ready by the end of April? Or will we have to wait another few weeks? Weigh in with our poll (below).
