'Pirates Of The Caribbean': Penelope Cruz Talks Filming While Pregnant

Penelope Cruz didn't exactly have your normal pregnancy. While it's best to get lots of rest, Cruz instead spent months filming a swashbuckling adventure movie.

The "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" star spoke to Entertainment Weekly about what it was like to film the movie while with child.

"Rob and Johnny [Depp] and Jerry Bruckheimer all really took care of me and made all the changes that were necessary to have total safety," Cruz told the magazine. "But they left Johnny and I on a deserted island with no bathrooms to do a helicopter shot. That for a pregnant woman can be a little bit of a problem. So for those few hours I had to keep going into the water every 15 minutes. That was one of those things that you remember forever."

It's unknown whether any of those ocean pees got into the film, but the good news is that none of her adventures got in the way of having a healthy baby boy in January with husband Javier Bardem. And the recent birth didn't stop her from showing off her post-baby body at the Oscars.

Cruz recently announced that she'll be starring in her "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" director Woody Allen's next film, to be set in Rome.

i can just imagine her walking back to Johnny Depp after peeing the first time, and them laughing, and then by the 5th time, him looking at her and thinking how much urine is she covered with at this point?

I guess the ocean is filled with urine, but still, ew. I'm a proud of her being such a trooper, but it's still icky. Then again, men love to pee outdoors, so I am not so used to women's outdoorsy pee stories.

This one looks much, much better than the last two. I really liked the first one and didn't particularly like the last two. This one seems to go back to the feel of the first one. Looking forward to seeing it.

that's a pitfall of pregnancy you can't help it. at least she didn't loose her gig in the movie because of it like Eva Marie Saint did in Long Hot Summer co-starring Paul Newman Angela Landsbury Anthony Franciosa Lee Remick Orosn Welles ect. granted Eva was replaced by Paul's then future wife Joanne Woodward who became pregnant during filming but sadly miscarried during their honeymoon. Penn didn't win that oscar for Vickki Christina Barcelona her studio bought it

I think most women who have been pregnant can relate to that. Maybe not the having Johnny Depp be helpful when you're pregnant, more the needing to pee every 30 seconds.
