As a sophomore in high school, Kaylee Radzyminski wanted to find a way to say thank you to U.S. troops. So she started sending them donated CDs and DVDs. The project developed into her nonprofit, Tunes 4 the Troops, and Radzyminski was named a CNN Hero in 2008. Then, she brought Tunes 4 the Troops with her to Tennessee Tech University, where it's now part of the Service Learning center.
Five years after its inception, Tunes 4 the Troops just shipped its one millionth disc.
Radzyminski, who's at Tennessee Tech on an Army ROTC scholarship, told CNN she's pleased that Tunes 4 the Troops will be able to continue on without her after she graduates.
"Who knows, once I am an officer in the United States Army, I could potentially benefit from Tunes 4 the Troops, getting CDs and DVDs... pretty cool."
