Bruce Boudreau, Capitals Coach, Rips Madison Square Garden

Washington Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau had a few things to say about Madison Square Garden on Monday morning.

During his appearance on 105.9 The Edge’s Kirk and Mike Show, Boudreau ripped the Garden and said its "reputation is far better than the actual building."

"The locker rooms are horrible. The benches are horrible. There’s no room for anything," he explained. "But the reputation of being in Madison Square Garden is what makes it famous. Also, our building’s a lot louder, too. So I mean, they can say what they want, but it’s not that loud in there.”

The Capitals lost to the New York Rangers in Game 3 of their first round playoff series on Sunday.

Washington has a 2-1 series lead. They play at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night 7 p.m. ET.

Is this Mickey Ronney looking guy kidding? The area around where the capital's play should be called Crackville USA. It looks like friggin Beiruit. Burned out houses and cars. The best part are the fans who are all wealthy suburbanites who live outside of Washinton with names like Biff, Tad and Muffy. These are fans??? The Ranger fans would eat these guys and spit them out. Lucky the Cap fans don't have to deal with the the Ranger fans in the old the blue seats. By the way anyone with a name like Bruce shouldn't be calling anyone out...

Possibly one of the dumbest posts I've ever read. The area around the Verizon Center is actually packed with $3,000/month condos right now. Also, no fans from Long Island and Westchester go to NHL games, right? Only true NYC residents, the vast majority of which couldn't pick out Henrik Lundqvist out of a one-man line-up.

Boudreau is right. MSG is behind most NHL arenas (save the Coliseum, but that's another issue altogether). I'm sure you've given the visitors' locker rooms a thorough investigation. The place is a cramped maze. It's got a lot of history, but there's a reason they're trying to build a new one.

He's doing his job, taking the focus off the game and giving his players some breathing room from the press. Want a good example of it? Brooks did the same thing in 1980 taking about the Russians. You're doing your job by being an ignorant fan. By the way, does Potivin still suck? I know he retired 23 years ago, but I'm not sure if he sucks to this day....Let it go.

I can't defend Boudreau too much on the volume of MSG though. Place gets loud.

so many great events at the Garden...but it's dated. The owners have made billions in cable, and through the NY Knicks and Rangers...the place needs a serious touch up or redo.

I am a big Caps fan, but I have to agree with you 100%.
Telling the Ranger fans they are not loud is inviting chaos.
The Caps just needed to win 1 or 2 games, then sneak out of the big city.
Now - it will be tougher, even with a far superior team.
