iPhone 5 Rumors Suggest New Phone Could Launch In Late 2011, Early 2012

New rumors again point to a possible 2011 release date for the iPhone 5, the next generation of Apple's popular smartphone.

This latest buzz comes from Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's "supply chain sources," reported by Apple Insider.

According to the analyst's note, Apple will begin trial production of the iPhone 5 in August, with mass production scheduled for September.

A similar report, which surfaced earlier this month, pointed to a similar production schedule and to a release date in late 2011 or early 2012.

The Concord Securities data also indicates that the iPhone 5 will feature a design similar to the iPhone 4, though a hardware upgrade is likely for the new device.

Kuo wrote that the iPhone 5 will come in GSM and CDMA flavors, both of which will be built around a dual-core A5 processor and will sport an 8-megapixel rear camera. Kuo also writes that the new device will run an all-new operating system, iOS 5.

If you were hoping for bigger changes, Kuo's sources say to hold your breath for the iPhone 6.

Apple has implied that its Worldwide Developers Conference in June will focus on hardware, leading many to believe that a new iPhone would be MIA at this year's event. But Kuo's intel suggests that Apple will reveal the new device at the WWDC.

OK, I'm just getting tired of thse hyped up smartphone wars...who cares? Makes me feel yet again like a victim of marketing, in a world with no substance. If it works, keep what you have and stop wasting the money! In the end, we don't even really need these devices, now do we? We survived so long without them as a society, and I wonder if somehow the decline in our society is tied to these things taking over our daily lives....hmmmm. iPhone 5, 6, 7, 8...my 3 is still working like new, so I think I don't care anymore....

I want a simple phone again, and to stop the madness already!

Pretty soon they'll have to start naming them after the year they come out. iPhone 2015, iPhone 2018, etc. After that, you'll have iPhone XP, iPhone Vista...oh wait. Microsoft might sue if you do that. Only they're allowed to copy.

They do report some news about those company's phones but those companies don't make the best selling smart phone in the world. When that day comes I am sure that phone will get more coverage but for now they report what will get them hits.
