LOS ANGELES -- The San Francisco Giants fan who was severely beaten outside Dodger Stadium remains in a medically induced coma and under heavy sedation after suffering seizures over the weekend.

Bryan Stow's cousin, John, tells The Associated Press on Monday that doctors began to reduce his cousin's medication on Thursday, but he began to suffer seizures on Friday.

He says doctors increased his cousin's medication to prevent more seizures and he will be heavily sedated over the next 48 to 72 hours. He says doctors may know more by Friday.

Bryan Stow, a 42-year-old paramedic and father of two, was beaten in a parking lot after the March 31 season opener and remains hospitalized in Los Angeles. No arrests have been made.

I am a Cleveland Indians fan who lives in Florida so I have no skin in the Giants / Dodgers rivalry.
My wife and I were at Dodgers Stadium for the SF/LA game the Saturday after the opener in which the Giant fan was beaten.

I was shocked at how the Giant fans taunted the Dodgers fans the entire day!
Several times I said to my wife "no wonder they beat that fan into a coma".
The nature of my comment was not to make light of what had happend two days earlier but to illustrate the brazen attitude and conduct by taunting 25,000 people. Run your mouth to the wrong person and something bad can happen.

The Stow story appears to be one-sided. The idea of him being a silent innocent victim who was beaten because he was wearing a jersey doesn't add up. He didn't deserve to be beaten, but he may have invited trouble based on what I saw from other Giant fans AFTER this happend.

It's just unspeakably tragic how Bryan Stow's condition hasn't improved at all and his assailants continue to remain at large -- despite the fact that there is a reward offered for information and that also, the brutal attack occurred in a public place. At this point, people should be stepping up to help apprehend the attackers and also, to gather support for the Stow family, especially his children. I think that the Dodgers organization should be held liable in this case -- the security was atrociously lax, beers were offered at very low prices to an unruly crowd -- it was a season opener -- they should have at least pulled on better security in the area.

I am a Giants fan and an SF native who has lived in LA for about 5 years now. It is a well known fact that Chavez Ravine is the most dangeros place on planet earth for a Giants fan. So much so, that my friends in LA were concerned for me when I told them I was going to opening day. My significant other even begged me several times to not wear Giants gear to the game. I was attending the game with a few friends who are dodger fans, and I thought, I am not going to wear any Giants gear and endanger myself and/or my friends while we enjoy the game together. The reason I feel this way is due to Frank McCourt's lack of responsibility when it comes to police presence, beer sales, etc. etc. On opening day, I saw numerous drunk, angry, Dodger fans assault, yell, intimidate Giants fans. NOONE was around to stop it. When I returned on Saturday for game 3 of the series, there was a NOTICABLE increase in security, pulling these misfits out of the stands. So, this has nothing to do with "blaming the money." The money is to blame when you are not keeping your patrons safe!!! Oh, and you don't think that the divorce and subsequent diveying up of ballpark costs has to do with the reduced security at the park opening day??? C'mon. Frank and the Dodger organization are responsible. Nuff said...

I smell cowards all over this.

1.) The merciless thugs who did this and
2.) The community who did not see anything.

Come on people these thugs must be in someones hood.

My prayers and thoughts to Bryan and his family.

Raise the reward to a million dollars and I bet you will have people lining up to turn these guys in. I am sure someone out there knows who they are.

Find these thugs and torture them! Someone out there knows who they are and need to do the right thing. Turn them over and let Justice take them on. Better yet, give them a hair of the dog!

as a white sox fan, i definitely hate the cubs and cubs fans, but i could never ever think about hurting someone for wearing cubs gear. the perps need to pay for this. no trial, no jury, straight to execution.

Interesting you use the word " hate " ( although I'm sure you don't mean that in the virulent sense ) " Hate " is what causes incidents like these to occur.

I'm not attacking you, dephtones5, just thought it was worth noting. Peace!

Despite all the attention devoted by the news media and government (including VAWA's "safe streets for women" provisions) to combating violence against women, in REALITY men, whether on a college campus or on the streets of any American city, are significantly more likely to become victims of serious physical violence and homicide. Moreover, the entertainment media's depiction of brutal violence against men has become so ubiquitous (without any protestations as would surely be the case if the depictions were of similar violence directed against women) as to inure far too many of us to it. No efforts should be spared in apprehending those responsible for this heinous crime and bringing them to the bar of justice. If adjudged guilty, they should be punished to the MAXIMUM extent possible under the law.

I am sure an attorney has already been hired and going for the whole shootin match, Special and General Damages. Hopefully, for his children's sake, this does not turn into a Survivor Action and Wrongful Death Case.

How is this the fault of the Team Dodgers and the Stadium owners. So quick we are to place blame where the money is. The sadness in this story is two fold over, the man attacked is a paramedic and has probably saved many of lives and has two children he has to provide love and income for. The onlookers are to blame for not coming forward with license plate numbers and descriptions of the abusers, I cant blame them for not interferring as a law suit would probably be brought on them. The abusers are to blame for the deed itself. If we revert to an eye for an eye and start actually punishing criminal acts then just maybe these acts will stop happening. Our criminals have more rights in America than do the law abiding citizens. The community needs to step up and help this family, but for sure the folks with the deep pockets will get the blame and have to pay. I will pray for this man and if his family doesnt sue the Dodgers I would contribute to the bills for recovery.

The Dodgers might do it because it is the right thing to do. They have collected donations at the stadium. It did happen in one of their parking lots, so it was on their property, so one might argue the security issue.

"Our criminals have more rights in America than do the law abiding citizens."

I appreciate your concern for the innocent victim... I agree. But, your comment above is (pardon the offense) just ridiculous. All citizens have rights. And, they are not considered criminals until they are found to be guilty in court. If you take away rights from the accused, then ANYONE could be falsely convicted with no right to appeal. Peace.
