Fox To Crack Down On Leaks After Glee Extra Nicole Crowther's Big Spoiler

Glee

Trouble in 'Glee' land: regular extra Nicole Crowther tweeted a major spoiler that revealed who would become prom king and queen on the show.

Angry fans quickly responded on Twitter, and co-creator and producer Blad Falchuk tweeted, "hope you're qualified to do something besides work in entertainment" and "Who are you to spoil something talented people have spent months to create?"

Crowther's @nicolecrowther Twitter account appears to have been shut down, but it's still accessible via Google's cache.

A source "close to the show" told Reuters that SAG's standard union contracts don't require day players like Crowther to sign a non-disclosure agreement regarding a show's plot secrets. 20th Century Fox, the producer of the show, is looking into revising its talent contracts to limit online leaks, especially via social networks.

Reuters writes, "Fox will likely add a liquidated damages provisions to its 'Glee' deals, meaning the studio could collect a pre-set amount of money from an offending leaker (and, more likely, prevent them from leaking in the first place out of fear)."

The girl is taking hit for a mistake. She wasn't even involved. She just overheard something and passed on what she thought might be of interest.

Some people need to just relax. It is a stupid TV show and a tweet is no reason to ruin someone's career. I would go after the exec at fox who didn't make everyone sign an NDA. It is not like social media is a new thing and this stuff is predictable. Not that I actually care. I dislike glee with a passion. Dancing football players..

Brad Falchuk has probably been waiting to say "you'll never work in this town again" to someone since he was a lowly writer on 'Mutant X.' Hell, he's probably been waiting since his childhood in backwater Massachusetts.

Okay, so he created 'Glee.' Impressive. However, that show will be like a mustard burp in the annals of television - momentarily tangy then forgotten in the wind. Brad Falchuk is not Robert Evans c1973...

Thank you for not posting the actual spoiler.
