I like Oprah, but I hated what she did to James Frey & felt she owed him a PUBLIC apology. Writers fabricate... it's called "writing", and no memoir is the 100% truth. It's one person's subjective pov & often embellished with imagination. Memory in & of itself is a slippery slope.

Frey should stick to writing fiction, and be upfront about it.
Once an author's reputation is diminished as his has been, proven to have no credibility and integrity, it's to take the walk of shame and find a new career.
