Al & Tipper Gore Celebrate Daughter Kristin's Book 'Sweet Jiminy' (PHOTOS)

The Gores had a little get-together in Manhattan on Thursday night to celebrate the publication of Kristin's book "Sweet Jiminy."

Both Al and Tipper were in tow -- we've had a soft spot for them since they dressed up as Beauty and the Beast for Halloween back when Al was Veep -- and siblings Karenna and Albert III turned up to support their sister. Also on-hand: Bon Jovi, Gayle King, Renee Zellweger, Jason Sudeikis and designer Rachel Roy.

It is possible to be civil and act like an adult with your ex - I do it all the time even though neither one of us really care to be around the other. We have a son and since the actual divorce he's never seen us dispute and is used to having us both at those important events in his life. It's really a non-issue for the most part if you simply put your child first....

Years ago, I saw a photo of the Gores in a magazine, where they are dancing together at a Grateful Dead concert. Now, whenever their names are in the headlines, my mind automatically goes to that moment in time. 
 
I guess I'm always going to associate the Gores with Jerry Garcia.

There was a photo Tipper took of Al when they were young and he was shaving. He was obviously laughing at something she said. I think of that. Looks like young Al is familiar with Mr. Garcia.
