Allen West: Obama 'A Low-Level Socialist Agitator' (VIDEO)

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) stood by eyebrow-raising remarks he recently made about President Barack Obama during an interview with Fox News host Greta Van Susteren on Thursday night.

Speaking recently on "The Laura Ingraham Show," West asserted that the president demonstrated "third world dictator-like arrogance" in delivering a speech on the federal budget and government spending.

"I do stand by those words," said the conservative congressman, who was elected into office last November with support from the Tea Party movement. "The truth needs to be said."

"I am sick and tired of this class warfare, this Marxist, demagogic rhetoric that is coming from the President of the United States of America," West explained. "It is not helpful for this country and it's not going to move the ball forward as far as rectifying the economic situation in our country. And I'm not going to back away from telling what the truth is."

The freshman lawmaker took issue with the way in which the president has regarded Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), who recently introduced a controversial budget proposal for the next fiscal year. "I think that when you look at what a community organizer is turning out to be, it does seem to be like a low-level socialist agitator," he said.

Last weekend, West and Donald Trump were the keynote speakers at a Tea Party rally in Florida. The congressman told Newsmax at the time that he hopes the billionaire is serious about considering running for president in the next election cycle. "This is not a time for any jokes, games or gimmicks, and I hope he is very serious," said West, who also declined to rule out running on a ticket with Trump in 2012

By Marxism I understand a doctrine which in principle rejects the idea of the worth of personality, which replaces individual energy by the masses and thereby works the destruction of our whole cultural life. This movement has utilized monstrously effective methods and exercised tremendous influence on the masses, which in the course of three or four decades could have no other result than that the individual has become his own brother's foe, while at the same time calling a Frenchman, an Englishman, or a Zulu his brother. This movement is distinguished by incredible terror, which is based on a knowledge of mass psychology....

Last week, I wrote a comemnt lauding Col West and several people took me to task for it. I stand by my good opinion of Col West. I think he's great. On a different subject, I do not like Congressman Ryan's idea to privatize medical care.

I have yet to see a Repressive, Regressive, Tea Publican with the ability to distinguish between a Communist, a Fascist, a Marxist and a Socialist. They're not the same, but of course, since all tea Publicans are the same, they expect everyone else to be clones of Joseph McCarthy like they are.

Today's crazy West story:

... "We need you to come in and lock shields, and strengthen up the men who are going to fight for you. To let these other women know on the other side—these Planned Parenthood women, the Code Pink women, and all of these women that have been neutering American men and bringing us to the point of this incredible weakness—to let them know what we are not going to have our men become subservient. That's what we need you to do. Because if you don't, then the debt will continue to grow."

That line about the debt sort of comes out of nowhere, right? Anyway, West, who has been floated as a possible GOP presidential candidate in 2012, went on to compare the nation's current set of crises to those faced by the Spartans at the Battle of Thermopylae, as well as those faced by the samurai in the Tom Cruise movie, The Last Samurai. I would just note that the Spartans all died at Thermopylae.

and there's video too!

West doesn't stand a chance. His military record enough will hold him back. Nothing heroic about firing a gun over the head of a shackled prisoner. Now if he had unshackled him and took him behind the building and went to Fist City, then he would be a hero.

His actions were cowardly. The man was already detained and shackled from hand to foot. No wonder he was only a LIGHT Colonel after 22 years. The Army's best and brightest are usually Brigadier Generals in the same amount of time. Best and brightest he was not, and more likely a misfit and malcontent. Obviously he did not get along well with his peers who were responsible for his promotions. It will all come out eventually.

Mr. West is saying that President Obama is currently showing third-world dictator-like arrogance. The congressman's calling the President a low-level socialist agitator is a reference to his earlier community organizing activity. A low-level socialist agitator is exactly what a community organizer is. Sarah Palin did the country a real disservice with the joke about a community organizer being sort of like a small town mayor. She should have talked about Rules for Radicals.

"Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), who recently introduced a controversial budget proposal for the next fiscal year. "

What is controversial about it. The President is borrowing money much faster than it can printed and the credit needs to be shutdown asap.

If you want controversial, see what happens when the entire thing implodes and all the government handouts come to a screeching halt.

Your fellow intellectuals can sit around talking about how, "at least he tried", while millions more become homeless, actually die from a lack of hospitals and lack of food.

Gee...Where were you when Cheney was spewing "Deficits don't matter?"

Context is everything. Cheney was referring to spending on the war. When our troops are in harms way we should spare no expense. And they averaged $400B deficit. President Obama and the democrat controlled congress have averaged $1400B, close to 4 times as much.

But, exactly what is the president spending 40% more than we are taking in on? ANS: Political supporters and growing government. Growing government to provide services that people could provide for themselves if government weren't confiscating every penny we earn and devaluing the dollars we have left. I pay more than twice as much for gas to get to work and back ($1.86 gal 2009, $3.83 in 2011), and there have been no extra trips. Food is way up and the Obama administration has been saying we are "deflating".

The president's advisers are ruining this country's individual freedoms in favor of the 'we know what's best for the people' attitude that controls Washington DC.

FYI: They don't.

Someone brought up another liberal myth -

That we executed WWII enemy soldiers for waterboarding and/or scaring our men.

INCORRECT. We executed enemy soldiers for torturing our soldiers TO DEATH and only a small portion of those involved. We have never put enemy soldiers to death for water boarding or for using scare tactics.

Look at actions, not words, and you will see that Obama is much less a socialist than Teddy Roosevelt (created national parks, advocated universal health insurance), Dwight Eisenhower (used federal government to fund interstate highway system, top tax rate of 91%), and Richard Nixon (took US off of gold standard, opened relations with Communist China).

The definition of socialist has changed over the years. At one time it meant government control or ownership of most large-scale enterprises, but now it means any government involvement or funding. You could say that TARP money was socialistic, or that ag subsidies are socialistic, which means that many of the most conservative members of congress consistently vote for socialistic policies.

For a person who consistently talks about the evil and size of government, Mr West has been on the government payroll for some time now. First he was in the military (a government job), now he is a member of congresss (another government job). Mr West one would wonder where you would be without government assistance. It could possibly be said that you are a product of welfare. You are just another WELFARE BABY!

Typical pper middleclass democrat thing to say. The man was a warrior who worked for his pay, not a crack head who laid around and pushed out fatherless babies for a welfare check. Democrats never serve so you assume yourselves to be leading experts on military life, you just dont make sense.

Try waking up every day a few hours before work so you can work out in manditory group sessions. Try staying within height/weight standards no other employer has.

The military doesnt pay as much as democrats think. We dont get the free things democrats think we get. When I finished basic training at Paris Island I had a little over 800.00 left in the bank. I paid for every bus ticket, I paid for daily meals and housing, I paid for every uniform. Warriors dont make as much as a postal employee or any other govt worker. You all seem to want to keep your welfare voters around but you have nothing party inspired hatred and scorn for men and women who work all day for less than a welfare queen makes.

Excuse me? I served ten years in the US Air Force. Did a tour in Iraq back in 2007. I did my duty even though I disagreed with it because I believed more strongly in principles like the chain of command, military subordinance to civilian command, and commitment to the people I served with. People from all walks of life serve in the military, and anybody who's ever served knows that.

Also, you paid for ever bus ticket, daily meals and housing, and uniforms? Liar. The Marine Corps offers special allowances for housing, food, and clothing. Transportation costs are reimbursed and paid for with a government travel card. You sir, are a phony vet and I am calling shenanigans.

Mr. West, you have every right to stick by your words, but my friend, If you listen to just five minutes of media, outside of Fox News, you would soon realize how absurd you sound, and this is coming from an Independent.

He isnt absurd, he is unusual because he isnt afraid to say what he thinks. This is the first stand up guy America has seen in the political realm for countless decades. He really is the only politician I have seen to date that I would gladly vote for. I dont agree with everything he says but a real man taking a leadership role for once would be a refreshing change. What is absurd is that that all we ever get to vote for are dishonest pansies until this starnge, alien stand up guy comes along and scares everyone with direct and fearless statements. What is more absurd is that we have become comfortable with pansies as leaders.

@OIF2009:

West is a loud-mouth clown with a bad haircut. If he really means what he rants about male/female relationships, I feel sorry for the women in his life.
