Kate Hudson, Matt Bellamy Engaged: Actress Announces On 'Today Show'

Kate Hudson said on "The Today Show" on Wednesday that she is now engaged to boyfriend and father of her unborn child, Muse rocker Matthew Bellamy.

"It just happened a week ago," Hudson said. "I haven't really announced it. I feel like the announcement feels so silly. I was just waiting for someone to notice."

The pair announced in January that Hudson is pregnant, and she later opened up about her relationship with Bellamy to In Style Magazine.

"You always hear people say, 'I never thought this would be the person I would end up with,' but I don't think you ever really know," Hudson, 31, says in the May issue of InStyle, on newsstands April 22. "I love that Matthew knows how to express himself. He shows his love. He communicates."

This engagement comes after Hudson told Us Weekly that she wasn't necessarily going to tie the knot with Bellamy anytime soon.

"No, no, not that I know of! I don't like putting that sort of pressure on it and I don't feel it necessary to get married," she said. "I am 31, I already have one child, and have had one divorce, so it is not necessarily the golden ticket. I just want to be happy."

Hudson was married previously married to Chris Robinson.

Hudson will next appear in "Something Borrowed," which is, coincidentally, about a party girl who may lose her engagement.

It's pretty sad when you're more famous for who you date, who you marry, and who you have kids with than you are for your movies. In fact, I can't even think of a recent movie that Hudson has done. Even the bad ones are instantly forgettable. HP spends a lot of time covering Natalie Portman, but at least she's done some respectable movies and is an accomplished actress, though I find her to be a bit overrated. But what is Hudson done? She falls into the same category as Jennifer Aniston, someone who's known for her looks and social life, but hasn't had a decent acting roles in nearly a decade. Makes you wonder why these people are still newsworthy.

Kate is very sad - has no clue about reality. I saw her mother on Oprah and she has had so much cosmetic surgery that I felt badly for her. So, like mother, like daughter, and I foresee many more men and marriages in her future. The real victims of all this are her children. They will be as mixed up as she is.

I've just never thought she was all that cute or talented at all, and I've never gotten why all the buzz about her. Is she just one of those people who just has to have a man around & can't just be still and spend time/be alone with herself? From Chris Robinson to Owen Wilson to ARod and now this? And now another kid on the way? And she's only 31. Wow.
