University of Denver Plans To Remove Majority Of Books From Its Library

If I'm on a selection committee, I'm going to wonder about the academic foundation of the candidate from an institution that turned it's library into a daycare center for students. This would be the tie-breaker for me if two candidates appeared equally qualified for the position. I hope students consider this when deciding the potential value of a degree from this university.

The fact that the administration lied to the faculty about the plan makes it smell very fishy -- like some sort of pay off by purveyors of electronic books.

Dumbest higher ed idea I've ever heard regarding a college library. Bet a P.hd (piled higher and deeper) administrator thought it up. It's just making more room for student to sleep
