Book publishers are to blame? And here I thought it was simply the gullibility and racism of the American public. Live and learn....

"“There is a veritable fantasy industry at work online and in the book publishing industry; there are dollars to be made,” wrote David Remnick, the editor of The New Yorker, on Wednesday. He said it was “plainly true” that persistent rumor-mongering surrounding the president is “designed to arouse a fear of the Other, of an African-American man with a white American mother and a black Kenyan father.”

Remick's right. Just give them a few days and they'll turn Obama's latest incredible acheivement - managing the death of "Has-Bin" Laden - into some kind of proof that Bin Laden's not dead or that he's not only not dead but living in the White House and having an affair with Michelle, or that Bin Laden was really Obama's daddy (even though he was only about 6 years older than Obama) or that.........well, you get my drift.

And of course, the "media" will have to cover their insane claims - right?
