Bob Schieffer: Trump Guilty Of 'Racism' (VIDEO)

Bob Schieffer didn't hold back in his criticism of Donald Trump on Wednesday's "CBS Evening News." In an unusually unvarnished comment, he accused Trump of peddling "racism" through his comments about President Obama's academic qualifications.

Trump has received substantial negative attention for saying that he is suspicious about how Obama was admitted to Columbia and Harvard. Schieffer told Katie Couric, "that's just code for saying he got into law school because he's black. This is an ugly strain of racism that's running through this whole thing. We can hope that kind of comes to an end too, but we'll have to see."

If you're not a racist, why would you be offended? And why are you defending racists? I'm not a racist, I judge people by their character and how they treat people. Some of my best friends are white and other races and some of my worst frenimies are black. I am of mixed race and I have white, black, cuban in my family. You are offensive with your comment.

i think he just took it temporarily as a favor to cbs until they could put someone in there. i love him too. i have his book 'this just in' on cd and my m3p player and i listen to it as i go about my day. it is an awesome book. go get it at your library. you won't remember me, but you'll thank me.

I would like to hear about Trump's treatment of minorities as a landlord. I want to know if there were complaints of discrimination against minorities, women and gays. If this clown wants to be president, then he must be able to stand under the spotlight and take it like a man. So far, he has not.

Yes, Trump is a racist. But he is the worst kind of racist. He's the kind who doesn't really care one way or another, but is on the side of oppression because he profits from courting the real racists. He is much like George Wallace. He was not anymore racist that most men of his age, but he exploited racism to become Governor of Alabama. In the words of Paterson Hood (Drive-By Truckers) he turned a blind eye to the suffering of others for his own advancement.

I believe that Donald Trump is exactly this kind of person. He has no beliefs, no moral center, no empathy. He only believes in "Hooray for me. Screw you".
