Charlie Harper wraps his fancy Benz around a pole or falls down a canyon. He is badly burned and has a face transplant. The material is all on the page so any new face with talent could walk into CS's shoes.
OR Alan gets hit on the head and becomes Charlie Harper and all that implies.CS's character is
threatened by the new CH. He runs away to a monastery after giving away all of his worldly goods never to be seen again. Hilarity ensues,

I also will not watch without Charlie. Seems that this man Chuck Lorre has been using Charlie Sheen to write a series. It also appears that Charlie Sheen is not the only one to come to vile words with this man. Lorre seems to be someone who thinks his s_it don't stink and after so long, people (Charlie Sheen, Roseanne Barr, etc) get sick of him and BLOW UP! Maybe Warner needs to pull their head out and consider reprimanding Chuck Lorre and rehiring Sheen to keep us happy.

Half men is more like it! Jon Cryer is about half a man and the kid is too,so that totals one man.

Without Charlie Sheen this is a nogo I think Chuck Loree or Hiem should go away.He is the cause for all this and should be fired.Get another Jew to write the show they are a dime a dozen in Hollywood.

Why don't they recast Charlie with someone who resembles him, a la Darrin on Bewitched, and never acknowledge there has been a change?

Jon Cryer is the best talent on the show. Charlie was more of a straight (ha) man. Cryer has oodles more talent and charisma. Cryer knows how to conduct himself and was smart to distance himself from Charlie during the meltdown. Angus and Berta are strong supporting actors as well as Mom, Judith and Rose. For heavens sake stop making it all about Charlie and more about the supporting actors especially Jon. It is a fabulous cast that deserves better than they have endured because of Charlie's antics.

Not really, Cryer at times was even a difficult to watch cry baby

Turns out it was Charlie Sheen that was the half man all along

Seems like Lorre was stealing Sheens life and writing his escapades into the script.

@ Smirk

I'm sure Perry can be persuaded to just try a few shows.

Imagine the scene - Perry is unpacking as he is moving into the house with Alan and the kid and the kid makes some quirky remark about one of the things he has unpacked and then Mathew Perry looks at Alan with the sarcastic expression on his face and says: My How he has grown.

I can just see the line delivery and the emphasis which Matthew does very well and the look on Matt's face.

And the rest of the episode passes as he unpacks and replies with witty remarks as they comment on his stuff.

Also as all the neighbors like the stalker neighbor comes in and wonders who he is - and he makes all the witty remarks in answer as they  have conversations with Alan.

Matthew Perry and the stalker neighbor have great potential to spark

The "what have I married into clip".

Mathew Perry has the comedic timing to smooth over those lines in Two and a Half men plus the sarcasm thing he does so well.

Imagine Alan the uptight brother, with Andrew - the newly divorced brother interacting sarcastically with the kid - yes it wouldn't be Charlie Sheen but it would be a good different with Mathew Perry.

The story takes up from the point where Charlie's character has gone to the military - and the new story line has tons of potential - the divorced wife of Edward's can do cameos (either Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox or Christine Applegate) maybe 10 episodes after Mathew Perry has come to the show.

Think about it and watch some clips

I'm sure he could be persuaded to at least do a few episodes on 2 and a half men and then they can see how it goes.

I can just the scene Alan and the kid helping the newly divorced brother to move in and then the kid looks at some stuff they are helping Matthew unpack and makes a quirky comment and Matthew looking back at Alan and in a sarcastic voice with the right emphasis saying: "My, how hes grown". I can actually envision the funny expression on Matthew's face as he delivers those lines. Comedy Gold.

Also as they unpack all the stuff and make comments about Matthew's stuff and Matthew replies back with quick witty retorts.

All it will take is one show at least with Matthew to set the ball rolling again

How about David Hyde Pierce? He is older and could be going through a mid life crisis. There would be similarities to the Sheen character. Have Rose's part expanded. How about more "action" for the boy? He's old enough now.

No while David is great he'd be way too much like Alan's character. Esp if they made him all uptight and stuff - Mathew Perry has what it takes.

Mathew Perry's best moments:

Sheen was the least funny thing about that show. While he sleepwalked through his lines, Jon Cryer and the kid did all the heavy lifting, as far as comedy went.

Charlie was good but he clearly doesn't want to be back on the show and is doing well with his comedy tours - Mathew Perry is the one who can bring the spark back plus he has the potential for tons of cameos featuring Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Christina Applegate as his ex-wife - capitalizes on the Friends fanbase
