Um, you know there are some really fantastic young adult books out there too, but yet you have to add Jonathan Franzen. He's got to be the most overrated author out there right now. Why not The Hunger Games? The Giver? Ender's Game???? Highly readable books and perfect for adults and young adults. Another book that should be given a look see is Melina Marchetta's Jellicoe Road. Simply breathtaking.

I finished a book called "Twisted Tree" by Kent Meyers a few months ago and have read three more of his books with two or three to go. I became really fascinated by his writing and the flavor of the S.D. region in all his tales. It is foreign to me but intriguing.

Good ol' Strunk and White. I have the most dog-eared copy on the planet. At work when someone has a grammer question I say, "Check Strunk and White!" and of course I'm usually met with a blank stare. Sad.

One of the best books I have ever read is Watership Down by Richard Adams. A book abolut love, instinct, trust, survival and friendship. Hazel-rah rules!

Best book I have read this year: RUSSIAN ROULETTE by Martin Magoun. About depression, drugs, suicide, our society and mental illness. Provocative, well written, honest to the bone.
