Fox Headline FAIL: 'Obama' Bin Laden Dead? (PICTURE)

First Posted: 05/02/11 10:08 AM ET Updated: 07/02/11 06:12 AM ET

As the world reacted to Sunday night's monumental announcement, it was only a matter of time before one of the news networks made a hasty gaffe.

While there were a few headline FAILS circulating around the Internet last night (curiously, mostly Fox-related) the best one has to be the following Fox 40 screen shot @KyleHudgins Tweeted.

You know, we had almost forgotten how similar the names of our commander-in-chief and our #1 enemy happen to be. Thank you, Fox, for providing us with this helpful reminder!

UPDATE: Perhaps we spoke too soon. Click here to watch an even bigger Fox FAIL unfold on live TV.

That dim bulb Norah odonell tweeted that "Obama" was shot on Sunday night. It probably happened dozens of times in the media.

Actually, the noun form is 'failure'. How ironic.

So everyone will attack Fox for a mistake, but no mention of CNN when they did it? I can understand no mention of MSNBC, because no one watches them.

If the same Soros and Dem-funded sources spent as much time locating network errors on all channels,Fox would be no better or worse than everyone else.

Media Matters, etc. has a myopic vision which is enhanced by staff who should get a life and do something worthwhile and creative with their lives.

and please... you lose credibility when you use the words epic, fail or epic fail. even if youre in high school it makes you look uneducated.

This isn't even Fox News. It's a local affiliate in Sacramento. Can you say propaganda....

exactly, not every fox news station leans to the right. some of the locals can be pretty liberally biased.

I heard wolf blitzer speak the unspeakable gaffe as well. It was funny watching him sprint away from the obviously embarrassing moment as he carries so much water for the pretender on a nightly basis. It's going to be so refreshing watching wolf tell us how "unexpected" it is next Nov when the pretender is so handily defeated by a marginal GOPer.

That would be FAUX news!

Best use of faux today, thanks for the laugh.

Seriously? It was a typo. Get over it. Would y'all be doing this if a liberal news channel made a mistake like this? And even if it was on purpose, why is it such a big deal? Liberal news channels bash Republicans all the time. Why is it so unfair when the conservatives retaliate?

How easy it is to confuse FOX with FACTLESS, FRAUD, FAUX and FLY-BY-NIGHT!
05:33 AM on 05/04/2011
@erinker-- Ofcourse it wasn't a mistake, FOX and the republican party tried this exact same tactic when they were playing on the President's middle name in some lame attempt to instill fear so people wouldn't vote for him, i hope the people in the US that have fear stop having it so that the GOP will have no influence in their ongoing efforts to curb rational thought.

The idiots seem to think the two have so much in common, that the mistake isn't that surprising.
