Twitter fairly exploded Sunday with the news that Osama bin Laden had been killed in Pakistan.

President Obama confirmed just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday night that a U.S. operation was responsible for bin Laden's death.

But word of the mission was already spreading virally via Twitter before the president's announcement.

According to the New York Times, the first tweeter to leak credible word of bin Laden's death was Keith Urbahn, former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's chief of staff.

View Urbahn's tweet, written at 10:25 p.m. on Sunday (below). To see more reactions from tweeters, click here.

Death is not a great thing, never something you want really, but justice is never a bad thing, so I think the justice in this, explains the happiness and feelings of releif from almost 10 years of man-hunt finding resolution.
The scourge of the entire peoples of this globe smile tonight just a little bit in the name of justice.
America WILL do the right thing eventually , just like we say we will.
TO JUSTICE!!

I'm wondering what those SMU students were missing? Thanking Bush? He didn't go after him! There is video evidence that he wasn't worried about catching him!

You mean like when he wouldn't take daily briefings/meetings with his own security team about terrorism? Or do you mean like when he ignored the memo that said: "Bin Laden Determined to Attack inside U.S." and it went on to say they would probably use airplanes...or do you mean when his own Vice President illegally outted a CIA agent because of a political grudge....or do you mean when he dismantled the very security team that was tasked with finding Bin Laden and told the press on live TV that "he wasn't worried about Bin Laden and doesn't spend much time on finding him."???

Is that what you mean by "fighting terrorism and hunting Bin Laden?"

It is likely that one of bin Laden's top lieutenants tipped off The US that following the couriers would lead to his location.
Watch to see who takes bin Laden's place.
Assassination was the route used after the death of Muhammad in order to gain power, and reportedly bin Laden and his followers are devout followers of Muhammad.

Not surprising one of Rumsfeld's people would go public with a leak. Unprofessional, yet so predictable.
