Cinco de Mayo Denver: Where To Get Your Fiesta On

You can certainly celebrate by downing a few of Denver's best margaritas, but if you're looking for more Cinco de Mayo festivities, check out these fiestas around town this week.

Casselman's Dance Party & Cinco de Drinko
Dance your way into Cinco de Mayo with this dance party featuring Latin sounds of Jon Romero y Amanecer and DJ Chonz. Then come back Thursday evening for the annual Cinco de Drinko, with live music by Whygee and tunes by DJ Nick Skeet and Coult45. There will be a taco bar, tequila specials, lowriders, graff art and more. Feeling adventurous? Take a shot of Tradicional for a ride on el toro.

Un Toque de Mexico
You'll want to get your seats in advance for this Ninth Annual Cinco de Mayo Concert at DCPA's Boettcher Concert Hall. Conducted by Scott O'Neill, featured artists include tenor Jose Luis Duval and dancers Fiesta Colorado and Semblanzas de México. With a tax-deductible donation of $50, you'll not only gain access to the VIP reception in the Galleria, but will also receive orchestra seating for the concert.

Mezcal Three-Day
Thursday will kick off a three-day celebration at this Colfax taqueria and cantina. Drink and food specials will run all day and evening Thursday through Saturday, with live music playing each night. Featured artists include Tito, Sol de Tierra and Regional.

Mariachi bands, colorful costumes, dancing and decorated floats -- claim your seat early for this festive parade. It will begin on Twelfth Street, moving past the Convention Center and wrapping up on Thirteenth Avenue south of Civic Center Park.

Cinco in the Park
The whole family can enjoy this massive two-day Mexican heritage celebration at downtown's Civic Center Park. In addition to a children's carnival, there will be three stages of entertainment featuring acts such as mariachi and folklorico. Come hungry because there will be plenty of food vendors amongst the 300-plus booths and a green chili cookoff event.
