Microsoft's Bing To Be Default Search, Map Service On BlackBerry Devices

BlackBerry Picks Microsoft Over Google

This Is My Next's Joshua Topolsky reports that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer just took the stage at the BlackBerry World Conference to announce a new Bing and BlackBerry partnership.

Going forward, Bing will be the default search and map service on BlackBerry devices -- no word on whether it will be future devices or legacy phones as well. neowin notes that BlackBerry OS had its own map service, but "it was lagging far behind the competition." The Bing partnership brings search, voice search and Street View-esque maps, and it will apparently be integrated at an OS level -- look for the first devices during the 2011 holiday season. Stay tuned for any other big Microsoft news out of BlackBerry World.
