Did they check the top floor of the three-story stateroom? The one with the 12 foot high wall around it?

How can someone fall overboard, if they are on a cruiseship. I have been at three cruises with Royal Carribean and I don't understand, how someone can fall overboard. But sometimes passengers get rowdy drunk and I do not care for that.

I have been on two cruises with Celebrity ships (Mercury) and don't understand people missing. The crew was very friendly and helpful - I have no complains and would recommend cruising.

i've only been on a cruise once in my life... the past december on ncl. i was appalled at how beastly the passengers acted towards each other and to the crew and attendants of the ship, who should be commended for their long suffering patience. on ncl's ships there is no easy way to actually jump off... there's walls of safety glass all around the ship limiting your view and access. even if you have a balcony there are wide rows and rows of lifeboats underneath and you'd have to be superhuman to leap from there to the water. however, there are just definitely some people who should be thrown over the side and made to swim to the shore.

Pretty soon the cruise industry is going to require little skiffs to follow the big boats and pick up all the passengers thrown overboard.

Or nets, like the aircraft carriers have for sailors blown overboard by jet exhaust.
