Charlie Crist Now Just Working As A Personal Injury Lawyer

Crist

Ahh, Charlie Crist. Once upon a time people thought Crist, who served as the governor of Florida from 2007 to 2011, had a bright political future. He was going to run for Senate, if he wasn't snatched up as a vice presidential candidate for John McCain first. He was an up-and-comer, a leading light, a future face of the GOP. But then there was that one time where he was nice to President Barack Obama and his whole world came tumbling down. Now, it seems that he's cutting late-night teevee commercials for some personal injury law firm in Florida.

Winning the future! Ben Smith catches this video, from Sunshine State Sarah:

Yes, the one-time Attorney General of the whole danged state of Florida has hung out his shingle at Morgan and Morgan, and you can come "visit him" at an email address, that's "for the people." Were you injured on a cruise? Have you experienced health complications as a result of taking Yaz or Yasmin? Did you slip and fall on property owned by the state of Florida that was improperly maintained by whomever it was that was recently governor? What about sinkholes? You know, the state of Florida is full of those! No matter what's wrong, Charlie Crist will help you fix your business.

I didn't think things could get worse for Crist after he was made to apologize to ex-Talking Heads frontman David Byrne on YouTube, but there you go. The upside, however, is that his post-political career is shaping up to be something that would make for an excellent original series for the USA Network, where "characters" are "welcome."

Guy has to adjust and make a living. I'm sure he was offered a comfortable salary to go there, and I'm sure he'll receive other, better offers in due time.

Crist is a good guy. He earned a law degree by hard work and diligence. He then interrupted that career and devoted his life to public service at a salary far lower than he could have earned in private practice. Having done so, he now finds himself back in private practice but without the client base he would have continued to develop had he not sought public office. We should not begrudge him in his endeavor to rebuild that practice at his age in a manner that is expeditious. When I began practicing law in Michigan there were fewer than 6,000 lawyers. There are now well over 50,000. While I am not a fan of advertising by lawyers, I can understand the occasional need to do so when competition is great and time is short.

Charlie Crist is so much better than any of the rebub candidates.. I can't understand his loss to Rubio unless you factor in Florida's average age and there non existent school system... he is so much better then what he is doing know..

That's too bad. I actually liked Crist. He tried to ban offshore drilling in Florida waters, he tried to improve education, transportation. He was a moderate. He tried to do what he could with what he had, but he wasn't crazy enough for the Republicans and he wasn't a Dem. I would rather see a house and senate full of Charlie Crists than the dog pack we have now.

Dead On. Crist could have been better, but he wasn't a bad guy. Now, unfortunately, Florida is saddled with its worst Governor in recent history, Rick Scott.

Is it just me or does Charlie Crist have the same skin color as John Boehner?

Too bad. IF he had the guts to run as a Democrat and not an Independent, he probably could have won. The Democratic vote was split between him and the real Democratic guy that run during the election. Their combined vote was around 50%

If Meek kept his word and dropped out like he said he would this would have never even mattered.

Just my two cents, but since I actually worked for this firm as a Litigation Paralegal I can tell you that they aren't ambulance chasers :) John Morgan may make too many commercials for my taste, but his firm and my former boss, Billy Howard, are at the forefront of Consumer Protection law suing dirt bag banks and collection companies for unfair practices. Also, John Morgan is quite the philanthropist and has funded a free clinic in Orlando that offers care to those not likely to get it elsewhere. I liked Crist and thought he was more reasonable than Jeb, but never as awesome as Lawton... Not surprised he's working for M&M. He's a great fit.

Charlie Crist was a Governor that was fair and listen to the people that lived in this state he was a moderate Republican that made sense, considering what we have now in the extremism of Rick scott and Rubio

Crist is a prime example of an old time politician caught up in modern politics. Promise after promise broken. Said he would lower home owner insurance rates? They went up! He approved increases up to 27% !!! How many years have to pass with no hurricanes hitting the state of Florida before our home owner insurance rates level out? Property taxes where lowered across the board at the cost of public services. Then he tried slidding into the campagin through the back door as an independant doing a 360 on his (publicly stated ) polices. Instead of just bowing out gracefully with some kind of respect and credibility. Then the state elected another Repub? When will Floridians learn business as usual leads to no culpability?

Poll question for posters...

Doing ads for ambulance chasers less or more dignified than doing Viagra commercials

Well, He did not have the foresight the Jeb Bush had. Jeb sold out the pension funds to some Wall street outfits in return for them giving him a job after his second term was up.

Charlie Crist is an example of what happens when you don't fulfill your commitment. He let down the state of Florida in a major way. I would rather he just quit like the woman from Alaska at least we would probably not have Rick the fraudster Scott...You reap what you sow Charlie...Oh yeah and thanks for helping tea b.agger Rubio get elected too...

Why can't a Republican shake a Democrat's hand and place a hand on his shoulder, etc.? They made it look like a sin.

The division of the parties is degrading.
