I think it's already fair enough: What you do in YOUR bedroom is YOUR business. If you want a relationship with someone who has "parts" that mimic your own, no one can stop you. But a non-narcissistic relationship is the only kind that is sanctioned by God, and should therefore be the only kind sanctioned by the state. We are, after all, "one nation, under God..."

Brier, I appreciate your opinions and your beliefs and I would support your rights to have those. However, this is America, and we all have the right to our beliefs. While you may believe a "non-narcissistic relationship is the only kind sanctioned by god", there are many people who don't believe in your god, and I hope you would have the same respect for our beliefs as I have for yours. The fact that your type of relationship is the "only kind sanctioned by the state", I believe that it's hypocrisy to allow some Americans a right that all Americans can't have. P.S. "one nation, under god,' was only added to pledge of allegiance in 1954. It was not in the original. Notice that 'christ' is never mentioned in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution? There's a reason for that. Oh yeah, I notice you have tons of messages on here....is this what you do all the time?

Believe this twaddle if you like. But we have as much right to have our relationship public and celebrate it as you do. My relationship with my husband is NOT narcissistic. How DARE you mouth NARTH crap regarding something you know NOTHING about? I'm sorry you're so limited as to limit love to "parts". My love is much more than lovemaking: it is the joy I feel each time he walks through the door; it is my heart beating faster at the sound of his voice; it is the desire I have to spend the rest of my life with him. In short it is everything a heterosexual person who is truly and deeply in love. There is absolutely NO difference.

F&F. Great comment! I agree 100%. So many of the fundies get so hung up on the sex part of love. Physical expression of love is just a tiny part of the human connection, but it is all that these people can think of!

Believe me, I see many hetero couples strolling through WalMart that I would not want to picture in a sexual setting. How about an 80 year old rich guy with a gorgeous young woman? Eeeuuuuggghhh!

Big mistake, when he quit his job and went skiing, and very likely it was done without her knowledge....she went after him to Jacksonhole.....that's what they wrote....she should have send him packing right then and there. I am surprised at her naive parents who try to make something work that is already kaput. Just to look at this guy....tells you everything....going skiing in Wyoming? I would have kicked his skiing arse. she is their only daughter and they are that naive? the only thing they have in their head is politics.....

What mess would that be? Highly educated, successful and widely admired parents, one and ex-president and one an ex-member of congress and now Secretary of State. Parents who have been married for decades and obviously managed to raise a very educated, successful, happily married daughter. Where's the mess?

Good for her! She's beautiful, intelligent and happy.
I admire her even more for wishing that kind of happiness for all, no matter what their sexual orientation or status.
I hope that they choose to have a child soon - can't wait to see how Bill and Hillary handle being grandparents.

I do not see the need to have a child right off the bat. My understanding is that Chelsea wishes to wait a while. This is not the 18th Century. She should undertake motherhood when SHE is ready and not a moment sooner.
