Debbie Wasserman Schultz Elected DNC Chair

WASHINGTON — Democrats have elected Florida congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz as the new chair of the Democratic National Committee.

President Barack Obama picked the four-term lawmaker from South Florida last month to succeed former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, who is seeking a Senate seat in his home state.

The full DNC unanimously ratified Wasserman Schultz's selection on Wednesday, making her the first woman elected chair by the full body. Wasserman Schultz says she will "make sure that no one outworks the Democratic Party."

As DNC chairwoman, Wasserman Schultz is expected to play a key role in Obama's re-election campaign, helping Democrats define Republican presidential rivals and serving as a top advocate in Florida, one of the nation's top battleground states.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), the chairwoman of the DNC, ripped into Republican presidential contenders who opposed President Obama's 2009 bailouts for General Motors and Chrysler.

"If it were up to the candidates for president on the Republican side, we would be driving foreign cars; they would have let the auto industry in America go down the tubes," she said at a breakfast for reporters organized by The Christian Science Monitor.

But according to Florida motor vehicle records, the Wasserman Schultz household owns a 2010 Infiniti FX35, a Japanese car whose parent company is Nissan, another Japanese company. The car appears to be hers, since its license plate includes her initials.

An insulting choice to Democrats around the country, a woman who frequently collaborates with her GOP House colleagues from Florida against the interests of Democrats. Shows a lack of comprehension by the Presidents advisors, who are trapped in their Clinton era upbringing, of current interest and passions of Democrats and obliviousness to the war being wagged against America by the Republicans and Tea Baggers.

I have to wait and see if Debbie Wasserman Schultz came win back the house and create major gains in the senate races and governors races too. I do not know if she can do the impossible just like Howard Dean. I wish her the best of luck on her new job and I hope that she will be really successful!

During the 2010 election cycle Debbie Wasserman Schultz was so effective at knocking the air out of Republican memes and talking points. She's sharp as a razor in a good way. Can't wait to see her take on the Republican/Tea Party platform - such that it is. Pass the popcorn!
