Jesse James Talks Sandra Bullock: 'I Can't Worry About Her Anymore' (WATCH)

Jesse James spoke to Nightline's Vicki Mabrey about his new memoir, "American Outlaw," and his very public divorce from Sandra Bullock, which was finalized last June.

James' marriage to Bullock famously unraveled after her Best Actress Oscar win last year, when tattoo artist Michelle "Bombshell" McGee told In Touch magazine that she and the former "West Coast Choppers" star had slept together during his marriage. Her revelation snowballed, and James' other infidelities surfaced.

"I knew I would get caught eventually and I think I wanted to get caught," James told Mabrey of his affairs. "It was me trying to self-sabotage my life."

Bullock filed for divorce in April 2010, and simultaneously revealed that she and James had adopted a baby boy, Louis Bardo Bullock, whom James has not seen in a year, he said.

In January 2010, James got engaged to tattoo artist Kat Von D--a little over six months after his divorce was finalized. When questioned about how the news impacted Bullock, he told Mabrey, "I can't worry about her anymore."

"I think I’ve spent a good chunk of the last five or six years worrying only about her and what she thinks and what I should do and, you know, controlling all my movements and everything else and I think it’s time to worry about Jesse, and making sure Jesse’s happy," he said.

"God or whoever you believe in must have thought I was pretty f*****g strong to lump that on me," he said of his public humiliation. "Guess what? I’m still standing."
