New Footage Of Osama Bin Laden's Compound On Fire (VIDEO)

Osama Bin Laden Compound Burning Video

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 05/05/11 02:57 PM ET Updated: 07/05/11 06:12 AM ET

Earlier this morning, Sohaib Athar, the man who this week became famous for live-tweeting the raid on Osama bin Laden's hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan, tweeted that he had uploaded a video of the burning compound taken just after the military operation.

Athar told The Huffington Post that the video, which can be seen below, was shot using a camera phone from a neighborhood house outside the compound's walls.

When asked via instant message if the flames could be from the American helicopter that is said to have been burned and abandoned by the SEALs, Athar replied, "one eyewitness that I talked to said half of the compound was burning, and half of it was smoking... so the chopper could be in the video, I haven't actually had the chance to see it tw[i]ce."

The video's YouTube description says that the footage was "shared by a local guy here for the summer" who is from the United Kingdom.

Sohaib Athar's tweet:

The biggest hoax since John Kennedy was killed! I am impressed! Particularly at the idea of our two rabidly opposed political parties working almost in harmony to con the American people and the world! I suspect the compound has been one of our secret detention facilities where Bin Laden has been held for years and probably died some time ago from illness compounded by torture tactics. I'm sure the republicans can't dispute the present administration claiming the killing without disclosing the previous coverup! I am sorry to be yet another conspiracy theorist, but please consider all! Get rid of the body, burn the facility, no photos, conflicting early reports, and then consider the most obvious, that our government (both parties) has an overwelming history of deceit and propaganda even when they don't need it. It's just routine!

Yes, we Obama lovers admit it to all you doubters...Osama bin Laden is not dead, it was all a hoax. Not only did we pay his wives and children to lie about what happened, we paid all the Al Queda across the world to pronounce his death. And of course, we were already paying off the Pakistani government, military, and intelligence groups. No helicopter was destroyed, heck, we had Obama's Hollywood movie friends fake that. And that so-called "tail rotor" supposed broken off from a new stealthy Blackhawk? Nope. Just a piece of that alien craft we recovered at Roswell back in '47, which, by the way, is still being hidden away in a secret hangar at Wright-Patterson Air Force base. And I should know cause I live just south of Dayton, and as an Obama supporter, get to visit the aliens and their craft often. And the old, gray bin Laden sitting there watching himself on TV...Al Pacino. So hats off to you doubters out there, you were right after all...can't fool you geniuses for one minute. :O)

Sounds like a cluster... Of course, a fire will help get rid of evidence of the unbelievable hoax that Obama is trying to pull on the American people. Does he really think this will make us think better of him? Only the most gullible among us are falling for it.

A retired intel friend of mine said the helicopter went down because of lost lift due to its downdraft blowing all the air out of an enclosed space into which it was trying to descend, a common hazard for helicopters. The commandos then burned it, since they couldn't get it out, all according to regular protocol. Presumably at some point the gas tank and any ordnance on board would have cooked off and exploded. Whether or not that was enough to set the compound on fire would be easily settled, I should think, by having a look at some sattelite photography.

The US raid was aided by an alien force, one of which was shot and killed. The building has been torched to destroy aoo evidence of the alien participation, which was a direct benefit of the research undertaken in Rosewell.

Or maybe not.

The helicopter remains were trucked in by the Pakistan army as a decoy.

This is nothing more than a after the fact retort by Pakistan.

No, actually, footage of the burning compound was shown on Sunday night by CNN, within an hour of the first reports of the raid. Whether it was this footage or someone else's that was shown Sunday night, the inferno looked identical and was described as being the helicopter & mansion on fire. It seemed odd the next day, seeing the footage of the compound with little to nothing visible to account for such a huge fire.

Be serious. I'm sure Fox will have that story all over their (news?)casts. They're not saying it's true, just giving it to you fair & balanced...you decide.

If you ardently believe that anyone with a permanent tan and a college degree that was not bought by his parents is truly evil, you will find any excuse to deprecate that person.

Right wing bigots will fling as much mud as they can make even if they have to spit harder and more often.

What are the onlookers saying? It would be interesting to know what they think is going on.

The fires are outside. The building is not on fire, anyone who thinks otherwise needs to look closer!!!

Let me get this straight nobody in all of Pakistan can be trusted. That is an incredible over-generalization.

But the army chief of staff, Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, "made it very clear that any similar action, violating the sovereignty of Pakistan, will warrant a review on the level of military/intelligence cooperation with the United States," the statement said.

I am really not pro war but that kind of statement after playing the money game to the tune of millions each year, is simply b....s.
