Osama Bin Laden Offered No Resistance In 'Cold-Blooded' U.S. Raid: Pakistan Officials

Osama bin Laden and his comrades offered no resistance when killed by U.S. special forces in a Pakistani town, Pakistani security officials said on Thursday.

U.S. accounts of what happened have changed throughout the week, and initial characterizations of a 40-minute gun battle have given way to officials being quoted as saying only one of the five people who were killed had been armed.

The White House has cited the "fog of war" as a reason for initial misinformation on whether bin Laden -- who was shot in the head -- was armed when U.S. Navy SEALs raided his compound in the Pakistani town of Abbottabad early on Monday.

Two senior Pakistani security officials, citing their investigation, said there was no firefight because the inhabitants never fired back.

"The people inside the house were unarmed. There was no resistance," one of the officials said.

"It was cold-blooded," said the second official when asked if there was any exchange of fire during the operation which, U.S. officials said lasted nearly 40 minutes.

The officials declined to say how they got their information, but officials had earlier said wounded had been detained.

Photographs acquired by Reuters and taken about an hour after the assault show three dead men -- not including bin Laden -- lying in pools of blood. No weapons could be seen in the closely cropped images.

The photos, taken by a Pakistani security official who was in the compound after the raid, show two men dressed in traditional Pakistani garb and one in a T-shirt, blood streaming from their ears, noses and mouths.

I keep getting mail now and everybody is focused on the wrong thing.....i know what the tv said.....i know the score.....what everybody is missing is the most important part......if you condone this.....then is ok to do the same to you. For whatever reason they see fit......If you condone this....justice is destroyed.....how smart would you be then?idk......lets ask the tv:)

Belief and fact are two different things. One's personal beliefs that cannot be supported or disproven with proof cannot be said to be right or wrong. They are merely someone's opinion, like my post. I guess you have never taken a philosophy course. You should have posted: I believe you are wrong. That's okay, your error is forgiven. In your case, mercy is warranted.

You need to get past your thirst for vegeance and ask why your president refuses to give an honest account of what occurred. It was announced today that Plan A was to kill OBL and Plan B was to capture him. Then why have a Plan B? Shouldn't that have been reversed. No one in this administration will come forward and detail the resistance that came from OBL. They must fear some kind of backlash.

Pakistan has called the raid 'cold-blooded'!!!! And they're investigation revealed there was no firefight. All this from a bunch of professional liars who insisted Osama wasn't in their country. What about the mass murder of over 3000 UNARMED people on 9/11. Did anyone of them demonstrate or mention it was cold blooded!! Instead they took to the streets to cheer him on and burn American flags.

Unarmed or not it sends a message to Pakistan and the like that this how we'll be dealing with you from now on so your on notice.

Either fully cooperate in good faith or your fish food like Osama!!

There are many kids who play with their poop. If they sling it on the walls, then when its found, their parents are more mad that there's poop on the walls than they are that they have a kid who plays with their poop. This is what is happening here folks. If Pakistan calls it "murder" then they don't have to account for him living "undetected" in their country. MURDER occurred when OBL masterminded the 3,000 people who were MURDERED on 9/11.

Sad thing is some Americans (who enjoy their freedom of speech) will agree with the Pakistan gov't. Fact of the matter is...Laden is dead at the hands of the US Navy Seals and CIA per President Obama. Does it really matter if there was firefight, if Laden used a woman for a shield. No, it does not matter one bit. Was the Pakistan Security Officials there. NO. In fact, what was Pakistan doing housing and hiding this monster for to begin with. I heard Mr. Brennan's report--no one seerms to remember that on at least three occasions he said somwetning like "'to the best of my knowledge' or"as I understand it' or ' I believe that's true'. So what if they weren't armed. The terrorists on those planes came here to learn how to fly. We trained them unsuspecting of any harm they were plotting. They killed innocent people who had no knowledge of what was about to happen....they weren't armed. The firemen/policemen rescuing the people from the rubble weren't armed. This is what Osama's people were trained for anyway; to die for their beliefs. He would have continued 911 and even after his death is still going to have attacks on the United States.
