Herman Cain 2012 Presidential Announcement Coming Soon

Herman Cain 2012

First Posted: 05/08/11 02:33 PM ET Updated: 07/08/11 06:12 AM ET

Former Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain is expected to formally launch a presidential campaign for the next election season at an upcoming event in his hometown of Atlanta, CNN reports.

In an email dispatched on Sunday morning, Cain alerted his supporters to "save the date" May 21 for an announcement rally in the Peach State.

"After coming out as the clear victor of the first Republican presidential debate in Greenville, South Carolina, this past Thursday, Herman Cain has come closer to making a final decision regarding a bid for the White House," the email said. "He will announce this decision at a free, public rally in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia."

At the first GOP presidential primary forum of the election season last week, Cain proved to be a smash hit with his performance among conservatives. HuffPost's Sam Stein reported shortly after the end of the debate:

Conservative messaging guru Frank Luntz polls crowds after big events for their instantaneous reaction. And in the case of the GOP presidential debate, the results were pretty remarkable (even though the whole thing is entirely unscientific).

The crowd of roughly 30 unanimously said that pizza magnate Herman Cain won the debate. Only one of them went into the evening supporting Cain. A clear majority -- citing his “straight talk” on the economy and his capacity to criticize the president -- said they would now support his presidential campaign.

“I have never had this kind of reaction until tonight,” said Luntz. “Something very special happened this evening.”

While Cain is considered to be a longshot candidate in the race for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012, the presidential aspirant nevertheless seems to be finding success in reaching conservative voters.

So Cain's Tr0||s think the Gov't should be run like a business.....epic fail...

American "public philosophy" (Re!ch, 1985, p. 68) embodies the assumption that democratic government should be "run like a business" so that it responds to market f0rces, as business is presumed to do....

Herman has about as much chance of becoming president as does "The Donald." Does anyone in their right mind think that the Tea Party folks will give this you so much as the time of day?

So Cain won't hire a MuslIm?   Will he ask the World Series Champions, Super Bowl Champs or any of the leading college athletic teams to the White House if elected?  Herb Cain is purely and simply a racist.  It has nothing to do with the color of his skin.  He is a racist.  I grew up when Jews could not join country clubs and Blacks rode at the back of busses.  Cain's attutudes are easily as racist as those attitudes.

Mr. Cain sat at the back of the bus when growing up, and had to drink out of a 'colored only' drinking fountain. Guess what, he got over it. Didn't spend his life as a 'victim'.

His comments are all over the map. I detect a definite Catdaddy vibe, too.

This discussion forum is more depressing than CNN and Fox News combined. Did any of you attend college? Moral fiber seminars? Engage in critical thinking....ever?

The left can't stand a black man who leaves their plantation! Look at the Tom comments on this thread. They have the nerve to call conservatives racist!

Actually, as I just posted by his stating he would never hire a muslem, Cain is a racist and in that case he does fit in the GOP
01:48 PM on 05/10/2011
He said he would not appoint someone to his cabinet, who did not support the U.S. Constitution, and that he will never accept Sharia law into our government. I suspect about 200 million other Americans would agree with him.

What race is muslim??? You are the racist. you don't want a black man to think on his own do you? I have met Mr. Cain. I know he is not a racist. I am pretty sure from your comments that you are. Please keep it up. You bigotry is on display for your "fans" to see.

Herman is a decoy for repubs, just like they pulled Palin out to try to capture Dem Hilary voters, they are trying to steal the black vote from Obama, problem is, aint gonna work!
01:56 PM on 05/10/2011
Not all Blacks want to remain on the 'Democrat Plantation'. It is the Democrats who catagorize everyone into groups: Black, White, Hispanic, Gay.. anything to be separate people.

Oh, and Obama will lose black votes to Herman Cain. Yes it will work, and that is why there are 3,121 hysterical people posting here.

Is the term Democrat Plantation some sort of slave metaphor designed to rile us up?

While running the #moremoneythanbrains political campaign, Cain's motto of a pizza in every oven is not going to go over well with the majority of Americans.
In addition, the RNC cannot benefit monetarily over his campaign and we will see them moving over to whomever is the most anti-everything candidate to run a failed 2012 campaign.
I love watching the party of NO fall flat on their face.

Herman Cain is wasting his time and money. He will never win the Republican nomination much less a primary. I know they say "never say never", but I'm saying never. The Tea Bags would run as a 3rd party.

You've hit the nail on the head. BTW, we've not had a Godfathers here for years.

Mr. Cain won the "Tea Bags" straw poll at their last national convention in Phoenix. It is the party Republicans and democrats who hate him. I have yet to find an independent non-racist who doesn't love who Mr. Cain is and what he stands for.

More power to him but he won't last far beyond Iowa or New Hampshire. He's got zero name recognition.

Name recognition? The man is Black...lol
