How did kids react to Osama bin Laden's death?

The Fine Bros departed their typical viral memes formula for a serious edition of "Kids React," answering the above question by interviewing children who were just a few years old on 9-11-01.

After watching President Barack Obama address the nation, the kids were asked to identify bin Laden. Responses included a "bad terrorist," "bad guy" and "horrible man." Said one: "I don't really know the reason, but he just wants to kill everyone."

Tough questions were then asked like "Why did it take us 10 years to find bin Laden?", "How did you find out?", "How did it make you feel when you found out?", "What do you think of people celebrating his death?" and "Should they release the pictures?"

Among opinions voiced were confusion: "We're trying to help them but they're trying to kill us."

The children didn't have one shared view of either bin Laden's death or the reactions to it...their positions were diverse and well articulated. (My seven year old has pacifist tendencies--he believes firmly that bin Laden should have been tried and imprisoned; differently, I think that whole process would have been fraught and that, alas, Obama's administration did what was most efficient and safe from a national security perspective. That said, we both felt that "dancing on a grave", so to speak, was tacky and we're relieved with President Obama's decision to not release the photos.)

Now let's watch a video about the response to Osama's death from the Tea Party & the GOP.

On second thought let's not, somehow I find these children to be sincere, objective, thoughtful and intelligent. These are qualities conservatives seem to have in short supply.

This is really great and what we should expect. Teaching kids that revenge killing is the right approach to life is a level below anything that I thought Ameica would ever stoop to . We should not torture anyone, but just killing them is fine. Good going there. Keep on building the number of psychopaths out there.

I find this to a little interesting in that what it is that these kids have been taught about a tragic day in american history,and there ideas about it. It is morbid and sad that they are confronted with it, but obviously it was not by the questioner. It came from someone else. If there is anger at the situation, make sure it is rightly directed.

This is sick.

The FBI has repeatedly stated that there is no hard evidence linking Bin Laden to 9/11. But instead of giving the kids facts we make them celebrate murder instead of justice. - I have to go regurgitate my breakfast now.

"Killing" is a routine part of the games they play or the movies/shows they watch. The level of gore varies, but theme is still present.

I think it's more egregious that the idea of death isn't more seriously introduced before they enter the world of fantasy killing.

What incredibly intelligent kids. I participated in something like this when I was a child when actor Bill Daly of I Dream of Jeannie came to my school to interview a bunch of us. Of course, the subjects weren't as serious as this. Unfortunately he didn't bring Barbara Eden with him, either.

Seriously, though, the moment that struck me the most in this video is at the beginning when the little girl in red put her hand to her chest when watching the video of Obama. That's a very adult reaction for a child so young.
