Taylor Swift has set her sights on a new target; instead of hitting out at the boys who break her heart, the country pop star is hitting out against music critics and bullies.
Swift's new song, "Mean," was inspired by some negative music reviews she received, and the new video expands the message to take on bullies and old-timey villains. Wearing a number of outfits -- that of a barnyard banjo player, a lady in distress and, finally, a Broadway star -- Swift sings and swings at those who are unfairly critical of her act, and narrates the inner thoughts of a number of bullied kids.
It's an effective video, pitting Swift alongside the underdogs and dreamers. And because this is Swift's inspirational world, you can pretty easily guess who comes out on top.
