Dwight Howard Calls Out Orlando Sentinel For 'Dumb Articles'

Dwight Howard Orlando Sentinel

Dwight Howard doesn't become a free agent until 2012, but just like LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, speculation about the Magic star's future is already picking up steam.

The speculation, stirred again and again by the Orlando Sentinel, is starting to bother Howard.

“Y does it seem like the writers of Orlando sentinel are tryna push me out of Orlando with dumb articles. It's annoying. Can I enjoy my summer and get ready for next season in Orlando. Pls. Same thing u guys did to Shaq," he tweeted on Monday.

The all-star center also said that he isn't blaming the media.

“I'm saying stop with the dumb articles," said the three-time Defensive Player of the Year. "They don't make be decision of mine. I jus don't want Orlando fans to believe them. Cuz they don't know. I love my city.”

George Diaz of the Orlando Sentinel responded to Howard's tweets and called the situation "silly."

and Dwight, quit wining that Mike Bianchi is trying to run you out of town. It was the ESPN hacks that have been driving this from the start. Get on their case. Bianchi is only reacting to what ESPN has been creating. Have you watched ESPN lately? It's barely about sports. It's all rumors, speculation, and who went to jail or got drunk before the big game. That's what they do. They thrive on creating drama and "side stories". Most of their analysts are wrong most of the time anyway. Bianchi didn't start this. He reacted to the avalance of idiotic ESPN comments that they have been shoving down our throat. ESPN has bashed every team Orlando has had since it started. One thing I know. Though Otis made some bad moves this year. Their history shows they will always climb back to being an elite contender in the league.

Lakers have no cap room. Dream on

The only way he can end up on the Lakers is by trade. You people are all idiots. The Lakers cannot afford him. They have no cap space for a major player like howard. The only way they got Shaq is by clearing massive cap room the previous season. They did not do that! He will not be a Laker. They can’t afford him. If he wants to leave he will have to go somewhere else. Nobody wants Injury prone Bynum or the declining Gasol., Dream on laker fans. This is not the same situation as Shaq. No cap space = no Dwight Howard. Idiots. Did you all fail math?

His suitcase is ready. He's on his way to LA. I'm not from LA nor do I live in LA. I'm neither a Lakers fan. However, I support these players looking for better opportunities as much as I do in my life. Thank God no one forced me to stay in my first job, why should they be forced? Good for you Dwight!

I dunno... after this season when the lockout is all said and done and new contract rules are ratified then it might be worthwhile to speculate about where players will end up going. At this point, we don't even know if anyone can even go over the salary cap.

I think that the salary thing should be a player's issue. Let me explain myself: Players decide if they take less money for better chances of championships. That's fine with me. It's their call. Now, trapping a good player (Dwight in this case) forever in a team that is going nowhere, is quite cruel. Poor guy. He has given Orlando what? 8 years? Do you think things are going to dramatically change in the next 5 years in Orlando? It might, but you wouldn't consider Dwight a "jerk" for looking for better opportunities. IMO, he has given Orlando more than enough time to get their act together. Don't you think it is reasonable?

He did not go to college. He did as you and I would have done after graduating high school and took a job paying over 8 million a year (guarunteed).

Dwight stop being a big baby. First you sue to stop the mother of your child from talking about you now you're whining about a newspaper. Grow a pair already!!!!

Dwight Howard's sons mother is Royce Reed of "Basketball Wives" and he has a gag order on her that she can't mention his name at all on the show. Chris Bosh is a wuss too for suing the mother of his child who is also joining the cast of Basketball Wives.

Dwight, we want you in LA. And the women here are better looking than in Orlando.

Hey Dwight-

Try winning something before lashing out at the press. And why you are at it, get an education to read the entire article and understand it's context in the first place.

Nothing doing.  Howard deserves better than the second-rate supporting cast he's received in Orlando.  Whatever games Orlando won was because of Dwight.  He's too good for Orlando and will find a quality organization that can build a championship team around him.

Dwight Howard has done nothing in the NBA except go out like a lamb in the early rounds of the NBA playoffs. The teams surrounding Tim Duncan and Hakeem had less talent than the current Orlando Magic. Dwight Howard is Joe Barry Carroll.

Maybe management should think about getting more than one player when they need four more on the floor. It would be nice to see him on a team like Bill Walton had in Portland with Gross; Hollins; Lucas & Dave T. Fun to watch them run & pass.

Dwight....here's a suggestion....especially if you decide to "take your talents down here to south Beach." Spend a bit less time in the weight room and a bit more time developing a 15-foot jump shot or Kevin Garnett-style fadeaway. Reason? You've got a helluva physique but Olajawon or Robinson would have eaten you alive had their best been in your era. Get yourself something besides a power dunk and you'll be ridiculous.

I totally agree...and if you want to be a winner, get coached by the likes of Kareem Abdul Jabbar, a multiple champion and not Patrick Ewing. South Beach, huh?

Patrick Ewing developed that 18ft turn around jumper in the pros, not college........ and if Howard wants to elevate his game he should be asking Ewing how did he do that

Perhaps you missed a move or two, but he has been working with The Dream, it shows, and he is still a high school to NBA player with all cautions thereof. The issue is not a 15 foot jumper, the issue is controlling the paint. With his strength and speed, he should be a force at both ends of the floor. What he needs more than anything else is help. A smarter point guard would be a big help.
