Art Rocks! 2011 With Brad Goreski: Digital Art Party For Pediatric Diabetes

Party With Brad Goreski Tonight At The Bowery (For A Good Cause)

The downtown fashion and art scenes will merge Thursday night at the Bowery Hotel for the fourth annual Art Rocks! benefit for the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center.

The benefit, which aims to raise money and awareness for the pediatric diabetes programs at the Berrie Center at Columbia University Medical Center, is being co-hosted this year by Bravo star/celebrity stylist Brad Goreski and designer Chris Benz. The event will feature a digital art show curated by LOLA New York as well as music from DJs David Berrie, Paul Sevigny and DJ M.O.S..

Goreski said that he met event founder Nicole Berrie through his best friend, fellow stylist Danielle Nachmani (best known for her work with the Olsen twins), and that when asked to host the event, "it was a no-brainer."

"My grandmother had diabetes," he told The Huffington Post. "I remember her struggling with and constantly monitoring it. As a kid, I always asked her how her blood sugar was. I'm happy to support this event to help raise money for the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center. My grandmother would be so happy!"

On display will be a digital art show featuring seven emerging artists, curated by LOLA New York's Emmett Shine and James Cruickshank.

"Art Rocks has built a reputation over the last few years for showcasing the year's top class of emerging artists," Shine said. "After featuring more traditional artists the last two years, James and I felt that the most innovative and progressive young artists are working in a medium that many don't usually associate with fine art; digital or internet art."

Tickets for the event are still for sale at www.artrocks2011.com and will be available at the door for $125.

Goreski says that his outfit for the event "is going to be major."

"You wont be able to miss me in the crowd, thats for sure!" he said.
