Ohio Boys Suspended For Farting On School Bus

An Ohio seventh-grader was suspended last week for doing arguably the most predictable thing a 13-year-old boy could do for a laugh on the school bus. He cut the cheese.

Canal Winchester Middle School students Anthony Nichols and another boy lost their bus privileges on Friday for their stinky stunt, which prompted the customary rousing laughter and "lowering of windows," according to the Columbus Dispatch.

Administrators ruled that the flatulence was in violation of the school's code of conduct, but if you ask Nichols' parents, the decision reeks of poor judgement.

"It's very laughable, that's what it is," said Anthony's father, James Nichols. He said he spoke with the school's vice principal, Daniel Senu-Oke, who "suggested my son should hold his gas on this hour-long bus ride."

For a concerned parent, however, that answer just doesn't cut it.

"When it happens, it just happens," he said. "It's not intentional."

But perhaps it is. According to the bus driver and school officials, the 13-year-old Nichols and his partner in crime are repeat offenders with a history of passing gas on the school bus.

Still, for the boy's mother, Kristine Kuzora, who has suffered from gastrointestinal issues herself, the incident hits a little too close to home.

"I take great offense to passing gas being cause for suspension and marked as an obscene gesture," Kuzora wrote to The Dispatch.

Almost don`t believe this story is real. it may not have been the boys farts they smelled. It could have been one of the other kids. We`ve all heard the ``silent but deadly`` term. The boys were just adhering to the old saying``The Louder, the Prouder!``

This is too good to pass--up! Timing is everything, and so are the circumstances. A few days ago I had recently finished a fairly spicy meal and soon had to pay the penalty, in the "little room". I had a prolonged session, frequently and liberally accompanied with the usual sound effects. One of my cats came in (at her own risk!) to use the litter box, and it turns out she was experiencing similar troubles of her own. For a while, by chance or coincidence, we had a Duet for Wind in A-Flat-ulence. There was no controlling it.
Some people groan and complain, and I suppose they must. But I have not laughed so hard or for so long in quite some time.
BTW, check out YouTube for similar "happenings", as well as a particular episode of "The Cleveland Show", and try and keep a straight face. Ooopsie, did I just misapply the word "straight"?

I'm sure they did it in good clean fun, but I know from experience of "holding it in" that it can cause health problems. I am 37 and have diverticulosis comparable to a 75 year old. That's perferations in my large intestines that causes diverticulitis (infection of the bowels) among other things. This is a ridiculous punishment for a body function that could be dealt with by lowering a few windows.

My six year-old has gotten quite proficient at making "armpit" farts that he can do it to Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. I did have to counsel him not to display his talent during class, though.

I agree with candyjo50. I drive a school bus and there is nothing more disgusting than a fart on the bus, must less two at the same time. Kids will do it in the back of the bus and even I have to open the window the smell is so bad. If you have never driven a bus and don't know the problems we have with the kids you should keep your comments about this being unfair to yourself. Try handleing these kids now days and you will change your mind. They are nothing like we were, and the worse part is the parents usually condone their behavior.

You don't need to be driving a bus. I'm in my fifties and I farted on the bus all the time. Kids are STILL kids, and uptight fuddyduddies are STILL uptight fuddyduddies. Er, um, barump, fffffffffft! P.U.
