'The Curse Of The Buxom Strumpet': Judi Dench, Ian McKellan Set For 18th Century Zombie Film

Dench Mckellan

Judi Dench and Ian McKellan are two of the finest actors of stage and screen of the 20th century, regal British nobility with careers that will stand the test of time -- and now headed back to the 1700's to fight a zombie outbreak.

The film industry knows no bounds in its enthusiasm for jumping on trends and re-making -- and re-making -- the same type of stories, catching even its finest performers in each of its waves. Including Oscar and BAFTA winners.

According to Screen Daily, Dench and McKellan are set to star in "The Curse of the Buxom Strumpet," the hilariously titled tale of a 18th century zombie outbreak in a British seaside town.

If it sounds familiar, the setup is similar to the best-selling book and upcoming film "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies," though the two are unrelated.

McKellan is currently shooting "The Hobbit," while Dench just finished "My Week With Marilyn" and "J. Edgar." She'll soon start work on "Bond 23."

I would watch it for the title alone. But since it has two of my favorite screen actors, I'm sure I'll find it irresistible. I've liked Judy Dench ever since I first saw her bit part in 'A Room with A View'. And Ian McKellan, as an out gay actor, is a bit of an idol of mine. Very handsome older man, comfortable with himself, and seems to be completely down-to-earth, unlike the endless male divas of Hollywon't.

If Ian McKellen is so famous and well regarded, why can't you people spell his name correctly?
