That Mr. Beck offers only snark suggests that he may be unacquainted with the phrase "epistolary technique". I much prefer archness and contumacy, myself.

This article says you've spent too much time thinking about this without being able to execute its premise...

Very negative article. I can't get those 2 minutes back.
He didn't offer a single positive example of greetings. Are there none? I start most of mine "Dear Friend", including to those that have purchased an item from me on ebay, that I have not even met. Does that make me, what? A chump? A dolt? Or maybe I'm just a nice friendly person.
