Celebrity pets in their finest bling, girls playing rough at the roller derby, performance art and jazz... Denver ain't boring this weekend. Here's the best of what's happening.

Jazz Fest: Enjoy a day of live music with multiple stages featuring acclaimed jazz artists all afternoon at the 8th Annual Five Points Jazz Festival. Stop in at the Food & Art Marketplace for children’s activities, live painting and chalk art, artisan goods and a nonprofit fair. The light rail’s D line will drop you right at the festival. Note: Bring your camera; you can enter the images you take today in an online photo contest.

Mutts & Models: There’s no better accessory than a bling-ed up pet. Watch local celebrities strut their stuff alongside their furry friends in this fundraiser for Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital, which assists underprivileged pets. Bring your checkbook to participate in both live and silent auctions.

Girls on the Run: Lace up your sneakers and get in your morning run at City Park in this 5K benefiting Girls on the Run, a program educating girls on healthy living while raising self-esteem and self-respect. Denver Roller Dolls: Enjoy jam sessions with hip checks aplenty at this week’s home team roller derby bout. The double header will feature a match-up between the Electrocuties and Shotgun Betties, followed by the Bad Apples and Green Barrettes.

Lemonade Day: A slew of lemonade stands will be dotting Mile High on Sunday. It’s Lemonade Day, a citywide event where children of all ages get tools to learn about goals, business and customer service. Stop the car, get out your quarters and buy a cup o’ lemonade from a hard working little person – money made will go to the individual child.
