I had assumed that beer went up in price due to the decline in the value of a dollar to a pound, euro, or Danish kroner. I had no idea that American swill had increased in price.

Oh you poor Americans having to pay $19 or $20 for a case of beer. In Canada a case averaging a buck a beer is the law!
Then again we have single payer... so I'll take the $24 dollar garbage beer.

That article is BS. The real story about beer is after the hops blow up a few years back, most brewers switched to cheaper and inferior products. Pyramid, Full Sail, Widmer Bros used to be fine swill, but now virtually indistinguishable from Coors. Also, beer labels don't list hop varietals anymore. There are exceptions and those you usually find in 22's.
