Cannes Film Festival Closes With Kirsten Dunst, Uma Thurman & Catherine Deneuve (PHOTOS, POLL)

The 64th Cannes Film Festival came to a close on Sunday night after eleven-or-so days' worth of photo call-ready frocks and floor-grazing red carpet gowns.

Kirsten Dunst led the way in a Chanel Haute Couture number, while Uma Thurman, Rosario Dawson and Liya Kebede stunned in blue, a hue we almost forgot after the recent rush of white dresses. Catherine Deneuve paired her black sheath with an embellished jacket, a clutch and a clop, while (our) heartthrob Ryan Gosling suited up in burgundy.

We should all be so lucky to have her bone structure... you can pull skin but you got to have the bones to look that good and she has a great body. You have to give her credit.

PLEASE. FIX your slideshow. When you click on the arrow, it pops up into the big full screen player - then you click on the arrow again and it clicks back to the normal page. Then click on the arrow AGAIN and back to the full screen player. Let me guess - AOL came in and ruined everything. Standard.

fwiw, that's not happening for me. the slideshow autoloads, then responds correctly to clicks on the next/prev arrows.

tried it using Chrome; Chrome Canary; Firefox 4.01; Safari 5.05; Opera 11.10 and 11.11; all on the Mac.

I say this as a compliment: Uma Thurman is now a fashion icon, not an actress. Right? I mean, based on the pictures here at HP, this has been a real highlight of her career as a public figure.

I thought the two were synonomous - I mean we're talking about Hollywood. This isn;t the theater where the actual Craft matters. Think about Mel Gibson. His ACTING hasn't changed, but public perception of him has. The way you are perceived matters in movies and for women, how you dress affects that. There ARE exceptions, but don't thy just prove the rule?

Good post. You're absolutely correct in stating that looks matter in Hollywood. My point, however, is that perhaps in Uma's case, she's now more interested in fashion than Hollywood. Plus, I think it's unfair to say that craft doesn't matter in Hollywood.

Many beautiful numbers...the best I've seen Kirsten Dunst look ever. Uma Thurman has been stunning in every choice, but my #1 selection in this lineup is Karolina Kurkova.
