Barack and Michelle Obama have officially kicked off their European tour, leaving the White House for Dublin on Sunday night. The president went unbuttoned for the plane, while the first lady traveled in a layered red blouse, matching pants and flats.
Upon arrival in Dublin, Michelle debuted a black-and-white sheath and matching kitten heels, topped off with a flyaway updo, thanks to Ireland's wind. The Telegraph remarked that FLOTUS' hair mishap made her look like the country's "number one pop music export...Jedward," which we had to Google. Check out a pic of the duo here. They're pretty uh, dreamy, but we'll take Mrs. O. any day, thankyouverymuch.
The Obamas spent some time with Irish President Mary McAleese and her husband (First Gent?) Martin McAleese, and Prime Minister Taoiseach Enda Kenny and his wife Fionnuala Kenny, whom they last saw on St. Patrick's Day.
In the afternoon, Michelle changed into a dotted Marc Jacobs frock and a trenchcoat to swig a glass of Guinness and swing by a rally on College Green.
