'Conan O'Brien Can't Stop' Trailer: After NBC, Conan Goes On Tour (VIDEO)

First Posted: 05/24/11 09:02 AM ET Updated: 07/24/11 06:12 AM ET

Not many documentaries leave audiences laughing harder than 99% of scripted film or television. But then again, not many documentaries are about Conan O'Brien. As the new trailer for "Conan O'Brien Can't Stop" proves, the then-bearded comedian's uncannily sharp sense of humor requires no talk show desk or television studio to be on full display.

Now comfortable with a show on TBS, O'Brien has had many jobs over the years (if you haven't heard). But few could have guessed that one of his funniest, most engaging roles was also one of his most unlikely: documentary subject. In "Conan O'Brien Can't Stop," which chronicles O'Brien's 32-city vaudevillian tour after he stepped down as the host of "The Tonight Show," audiences see many shades of Conan as a human being -- pitching jokes with his writers, relentlessly mocking his assistant Sona, rehearsing dance routines, interacting with his fans and even tipsily venting about his fallout with NBC in his home.

"Conan O'Brien Can't Stop," which was directed by O'Brien's Harvard colleague Rodman Flender, will receive a limited release beginning June 24. In a unique three-distributor deal, the documentary will simultaneously be released to AT&T U-verse subscribers the night before its theatrical release, and Magnolia Pictures will also release the film on other platforms. Is it just me, or does it feel like this movie/documentary should have come out a long time ago?

I like Conan, but his new show just drags. It's clear they have no budget, which obviously doesn't help, and he has one of the absolute worst bands in late night. Yawn.

OK, Conan's not for everyone, but what could you /possibly/ have against the band?!

They're a major bore. I'm also spoiled by listening to The Roots most nights on Late Night.

Conan is not for everyone. His humor is off kilter. I've been a fan for years. It never gets old.

Wow. You must be lacking that certain sense of humor that people with brains have. Who do you find funny? Let me guess, the other guy from Two and Half Men? Or do you like According to Jim?

Honeymoon? What are you even talking about? If you don't like him you don't have to pay any attention to him. Don't you know that?

I didn't know I actually had to like somebody or something, in order to be able to make a comment.
The basis for my observation about the "Honeymoon" being over, is that just a few short months ago, a blog about Conan would have brought scores of loving comments from Team Coco. Now, it seems like they just don't care all that much anymore.
I treat Conan the same way I treat ALL late night comedians;
Sometimes they're funny.
Sometimes they're not.
And some just know how to play the game of "show business" better than others.
I personally like Ferguson the best, but that's just me.
As for you, instead of attacking me for making a personal, honest and it appears to be accurate, observation about Conan's waning popularity, you should just post your own feelings about him, and whether you think the documentary in question will be good, great, very funny, a waste of film, or whatever.
