Michelle Obama Wears Tom Ford Dress To England State Dinner (PHOTOS)

After spending the morning with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the afternoon with Samantha Cameron, First Lady Michelle Obama slipped into a floor-grazing, layered ivory gown with crisscrossed straps by Tom Ford for a state banquet at Buckingham Palace. She wore her hair in an updo and accessorized with drop earrings, a clutch and evening gloves.

The president picked a white bow tie and tails for his evening look.

THANK YOU...I actually love the dress she chose to wear to this event instead of something off beat and color...the designer is extremely expensive..but hey it's dinner with the QUEEN. So Michelle just outdid herself in this gown..BRAVO MICHELLE..BRAVO...

I am STILL tripping out over Camilla, I mean her just being in this whole situation! She was a mistress for a hundred years, and now she's married a prince, wearing a tiara, and sitting next to the the POTUS. Really, Camilla?? You were a jump-off! Talk about being rewarded for bad behavior.

Actually Camilla and Charles were together before he was with Princess Diana. Diana always said it was hard with 3 people in the marriage.

I know, and I know (at least I think) that he always wanted to marry Camilla, but when someone gets married--regardless of whether or not you think they're your ~soulmate~--they really are off limits. I mean, if they're happy, then great, I guess, but Diana was miserable and then as soon as she started to enjoy her life she died. Man, it just seems so unfair! To do a lot of dirt, hurt a lot of people, and then get everything you want and then some.

Probably the most elegantly dressed first lady since Jackie. I don't always agree with her style choices (sweaters? shrugs?), but this dress is perfect. And the white fabric against her darker skin makes it even more stunning. A paler woman wouldn't look half as good in this dress.
