'Don't Say Gay Or Anything Else': The Full Ginsburg Responds To Tennessee Bill (VIDEO)

Following the logic of the first "Nightmare On Elm Street," (where Freddy disappears as soon as Nancy turns her back on him) the Tennessee lawmakers behind the "Don't Say Gay" bill seem to believe that homosexuality will disappear as long as no one acknowledges it.

Cue the viral video responses.

George Takei has had the most memorable take so far, but now The Full Ginsburg has entered the fray by taking the "to un-name it is to undo it" logic to its most reasonable outcome.

I saw George Takai's video clip for this on TV, I think Rachel's show.  How could you outlaw the use of someone's last name?
 
Plus, Rick Santorum's last name without capitalization is probably not fit to be printed in most newspapers or mentioned on TV in its proper context. 
 
I love it. 
 
The crazy republicans have been messing with words for years, starting with Democrat instead of Democratic as in Democratic Party.  Then, death tax for estate tax, death panels, and so on.

Is there a complete lack of self confidence and self-respect in American culture now? Do we have to waste time legislating and arguing over what words are and aren't okay to say? How about this: If you like yourself enough, than who the hell really cares what someone else says? It's not all about you.

Fear destroys intellect; information uplifts. The Tennessee bill exemplifies what fear does and I'm afraid that it is simply on the wrong side of history; denying the word "gay" does not make it go away; it will (these days) just make the gay tourism dollars leave the state and make Tennessee even more the butt of jokes. And those who support the bill and its sentiment, oh please; you really should perform a self-examination and I wish I could be around when karma (or the golden rule) turns and you're on the receiving end of prejudice.

Be Gay. Be who you are. Be who you were born to be. I AM GAY. Whenever I write my TN legislators and Gov. Haslam, I sign off as "Demarcus Jackson, Gay Citizen of Tennessee and Regular Voter."

Make no mistake about it: The Don't Say Gay bill is an unwarranted attack on LGBT Tennessee citizens--nothing more and nothing less. I will continue to fight these attacks with every breathe in my body.

FOX News absolutely dominates in Tennessee. It is sad and infuriating trying to fight the mountain of misinformation among my students.
