Dick Cheney: 'I Worship The Ground Paul Ryan Walks On'

Former Vice President Dick Cheney weighed in on the political stature of Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) while speaking at an event in Texas on Wednesday, the Houston Chronicle's "Fuel Fix" blog reports.

"I worship the ground the Paul Ryan walks on," he said of the House Budget Committee Chairman. "I hope he doesn't run for president because that would ruin a good man who has a lot of work to do."

A controversial proposal to reform Medicare introduced by Ryan earlier this year has landed him at the center of a heated debate over the prospect of changes being made to the entitlement program. The plan emerged a contentious topic for debate in the special election for New York's 26th district congressional seat. Democrat Kathy Hochul pulled off an upset victory over Republican Jane Corwin in the race that culminated late Tuesday night.

Ryan defended his proposal in a series of interviews earlier this week. Here's a clip of what the Republican congressman had to say on the issue during an appearance on MSNBC on Wednesday morning.

Sounds to me like a very 'corny' statement to be made by an ex VP. The statement lacks sincerity and is an extremely hyperbolic statement that is made to just put down and insult the democrats who are opposing Paul Ryan’s proposal on Medicare.

Bush Tax cuts paid for by borrowing. Continue.
The GOP spend without income spree destroyed the Clinton prosperity. Continues.

It was all faith then. Ideology first.

And so in obedience to the law of 'we are right all along' and inertia:

First order of business for America is to erase the ground they walk on.

Get the boot.

End the Bush Tax cuts.
Finish getting out of Iraq.
Finish getting out of Afghanistan.
And do not postpone, insuring that we are educating all our children equally.
And for the love of Democracy: put laws in place that punish those who rig the vote count.
That has got to stop.
