Pippa Middleton Oprah Show Rumors Make The Rounds

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 05/27/2011 8:55 am Updated: 07/27/2011 5:12 am

This just in from the check-out line magazine rack: both National Enquirer and In Touch claim that Pippa Middleton is moving toward a television deal.

Per the Enquirer, caps lock theirs: "TV queens BARBARA WALTERS and OPRAH WINFREY are secretly DUKE-ing it out over DUCHESS KATE's baby sister in a battle royal to snag her for U.S. TV! Sources close to Baba and O confirm that both talk-show divas are deep into hush-hush talks with Ms. Pippa-licious."

O YES WE DID have to read that thrice to figure out what was being said. Apparently, Barbara previously tried to hire Catherine to co-host "The View," and is now smitten with Pippa. And Oprah is eyeing the 27-year-old for some OWN network programing.

Naturally, In Touch confirms.

Although we'd tune in daily to "Real Talk with Pippa Middleton," we won't begin to list the number of reasons this one isn't true (see some here). However, Kate's little sis was on TV this week in some capacity, apparently mentioned on the season finale of "Glee." USA Today writes:

Blaine said: "We're on our way to get some sheet music. Tomorrow is my audition for the summer show at Six Flags."

Kurt replied: "Whereas I'm spending my summer composing Pip, Pip, Hooray, the broadway musical about Pippa Middleton."

Sam says: "I have no idea who that is but it sounds totally awesome!"

A Pippa Middleton musical? Fah-bulous idea! We're going to start working on it now.

Just, uh, what rhymes with "Pippa"?

Read the rest, if you dare, at National Enquirer.

So a pretty girl is the sister to the future Queen of England and right away she's a media star. I guess some in the press need to make a living writing this stuff. Whatever pays the rent...LOL

After Oprah got popular, here are some of the people that attempted to "unseat" her: Geraldo, Sally, Leeza, Tempest, Gayle, Marilu, Ricki, Sharon, Montel, Tyra, Roseanne, Les Brown, Greg Behrendt, Jenny Jones, Joan Lunden, Dr. Phil, Megan Mullaly, Joan Rivers (yeah she tried that format, too), Rolanda Watts, Steve Wilkos, JOHN TESH, and many that I missed. Only Jerry Springer and Maury Povich seem to have been able to outlast the queen, although not without wallowing in the mire of the dregs of society to do so.

The only person I see as one who could truly pick up the mantle, and the timing is perfect, is Katie Couric. She's still adorable, and thanks to Sarah Palin, carries an amount of gravitas. She knows how to talk to anybody and she can discuss embarrassing issues with her audience. Anyone else is probably just another pretender.

She is an ordinarily pretty girl and very unremarkable.

Holy crap!! USA, don't get caught up in the nonsense. I understand the Britts doing, but not us. We have the Kardashians and that's enough family drama to serve us for decades...

This country's media machine can make a celebrity out of a door knob.

Once in a while I watch the 'View' and I am disgusted at Joy's remarks most of the time. Pipa will be a welcome substitute thus joining the other easy on the eye Elizabeth!

Love Joy Behar! Elisabeth Hasselwhoseits is an idiot. I think Pippa Middleton could be an interesting addition. Lucky for her that her sister married a prince.

no one even heard of Pippa before Kate and William became engaged. Does she even have what it takes? I won't be tuning in, couldn't care less about her. This shows what t.v. entertainment has come to.l

And some of us own them yet are able to resist the temptation to have them on 24/7. Not owning one isn't some mark of virtue.

I'm thinking that this is all just so much showbiz BS. And if it's really serious talk, then it's just another nail in the coffin of MSM. Does this girl have any talent for hosting a show? Has she any experience? Will it do better than the Chevy Chase Show?

Oh boy,the poor Americans cannot catch a break in this high unemployment job market. It is enough that the US jobs have been outsourced overseas to China and India and now it is rummered that Oprah and Barbara Walters are duking it out to hire Pippa all because of her famous backside in her bridesmade dress at her sister's wedding to Prince William. Thank God I am not an Oprah nor the View fan and I really do not watch those shows. Then we have the other freek Sarah Palin and her clan making money for doing nothing but talking tripe.

this micro-bio is a great idea!

It was clear during the wedding that the emerging 'hot star' (in the snug gown) would be Pippa.
It was hard not to watch her....She'll be wasted on a talk show..but its a start.

I think the really important point in this story is the identity of the cat in the bowler hat, with Windsor-knotted tie, emerging red-faced from the rhododendrons. As for the guff about Miss Middleton, I thought the American talk-show honchos had already engaged The Duchess of Fergiana to replace Oprah, but perhaps that was reported in jest...

I didn't say that! Who said that?

I'd rather see Kurt's Pippa musical than a talk show hosted by Pippa.
